Guess It's the same senate under Ahmed Lawan that asked Nigerians to shout up and go to hell over their #5.5M Jeeps they wish to acquire for themselves?

Why cant these useless so called lawmakers ever legislate for this same death penalty for their corruption, excessive crave for Nigeria's mean resource, useless foreign medical tourism etc. They're in a haste to initiate & processing this noxious bill.

Hehehe! Nigerians your fate is in your hands. It's either you fight or be a victim.I see no changes but chains.
You have said it all. I couldn't add anything more.

Bye-bye to yeye bills...

Legislate on bills that will put food on the common man's table.

About 90% of Nigerians are living below $10 daily.

This so-called "hate speech bill" is benefiting those in government, the 1%.

If you know, you know.

Below $10 daily? Do you know the value of $10? That is over N3000. How many Nigerians spend that amount daily? I guess you wanted to type $1

hmmmmmmm poor Nigerians! what can we do? than to wail behind our keyboard, shout we no go gree on social media. even,if government choose to start slaughtering us one after the other, what can we do? we citizens are powerless, government have gun and thugs that doesn't know that if we are protesting for bad governance or bad government policy we are fighting for their unborn children instead of them to apply senses they will start chasing us with gun like armed robbers because we are fighting and protesting for a better country is there anything we can do? even, if that law is passed than our usual internet rant i have come into conclusion that the Nigeria we are all dream of is a mere mirage because it keep getting worse day by day if we protest they will kill us if we try to chase them with the only power given to us by democracy they will still rig their way in the best thing for any serious person is to leave this country for aboki that doesn't question their oppressor
I have to disagree with you there. Firstly there are no wars or revolutions without casualties. But one thing is constant; the people always and always win. They together with their thugs are not upto 1% of the entire population. How many dem wan kill.?

hate-speech-bill-senate-urges-nigerians-to-be-patient.

No.

Because in a free World, there's nothing like Hate Speech. We have Hate Actions, Interactions and Movements. And these go with Murder, Covetousness and Stealing.

To Talk Hate, can only be due to Misunderstanding, Language and Temperamental Differences. Like you are in Greece, you cannot speak Greek, and you want to eat because you're hungry, won't you make some noise? And to legislate on Speech is cheer Ignorance, Wickedness and Witch Hunting.

The Governor of Bauchi just said, "The Nationality of a Fulani man is Fulani". This means that the Fulanis' are not Nigerians. It's therefore absurd for non Nigerians to assemble themselves anywhere to make Speech laws for Nigerians. It's silly, hostile and alien.

Untill all of you living in Nigeria start acting like you deserve to be treated like human beings in your own country I won't sympathize with you all. In fact you'll deserve to be locked up in cages by your politicians.

Your politicians steal your wealth, fail to obey the law and now trying to kill you if you criticize them for stealing. And all all you lads do is act a coward and make noise online. If it was street pick pockets you would have hanged tire on their knecks and burn them alive, but not with the real thiefs stealing your future and human right. Bunch of lazy Nigerians.
Wooooow that was a low blow, but it was the truth nonetheless. This has always been what I've been clamouring for; but I guess I was a lone voice in the wilderness.

In the history of Nigeria no Nigerian has used hate speech and depredatory words more dan Hell rufai and his midget son “I stand to be corrected “
Well some Nigerians are above the Law cry

This is not a matter of Buhari for now, it is the collective of the Senators to debate on it. So if both APC and PDP Senators for now.. If they both accept the bill and Buhari sign it into law, then you can mention Buhari but for now, the blame goes to the Senator and more so, it has not passed second reading and i believe it will be killed in the second reading because it was just mentioned for first reading.

This is a plot to stifle the voices of the people and hold them to ransom...it's a shame, and shows the calibre of persons we have on the house of representatives and Senate. They are there to fight for the people, not fight against the people. This is a breach of contract cos the members of house of representatives/senate swore to represent the people, this is what their job is all about, this is the definition of both houses, the representation of all constituents/people of Nigeria, why betraying this trust?

Democracy is all about the people. the term 'hate speech' has been defined so ambiguously, that it infringes on freedom of speech and expression. Democracy is all about debates, the most reasonable and logical argument wins, so in democracy there is space for argument, disagreement etc. I agree, calls for war against a people and others can be said to be hate speech, under 'genocide' laws...but let hate speech be what it is, speech made to deliberately cause anarchy, or to bring harm/war to a set of people etc. Hate speech law should not infringe on our rights to call for protests etc, because protest is there to check the excesses of any party or government in power.

Power is transient, let's do the right thing, so as not to fall victim to bad policies we put in place.

Well, most Nigerians are brainless zombies, not all... Unfortunately and sadly, majority determine who gets elected at the polls.

Only an honest and patriotic military take over will put things right. This kind of democracy where imbeciles decide what imbeciles should lead will continue to foster retrogression.

Military takeover brought us to where we are since January 1966.
How many of the countries that Nigerians are running away to is ruled by a dictator, whether honest and patriotic or not?
There is no difference between politicians and dictators in being selfish and greedy. It is the control and agitation of the people that moderates the excesses. The input of the people is more respected in a democracy than a dictatorship, due to more effective institutions.
Have you compared India and Pakistan, one without military rulers and the other with several coups?
Why do you feel helpless to convince the brainless zonebees to understand what is at stake and act appropriately?
Will you risk your life, fortunes and render your family fatherless to do a coup and then turn around to be honest and patriotic? Is that not been foolishi?

. What is a hate speech? Exoressions that attack tribes and religions. A hate speech can cause crisis religiously and tribally. A hate speech caused genocide in Rwanda in 1995.This is what this government wants to discourage.. The bill recommends death penalty for any hate speech that leads to loss of lives through violence. As for the penalty, it will be subjected to public hearing before it is passed to law. It will be modified and amended as appropriate. This bill does not discourage criticism or write up that praises or condemns the government. The bill is not about 2023..........
