Many don't understand the Kogi state politics.
Yahya Bello is a terrible governor, just like every other Igala man that has rule the state, Audu is the only exception.
An Ebira man will rather die suffering, if that will not bring an Igala man to Lugard house. Same goes with Igala people, they will vote Wada, not because they feel Bello has performed woefully (which he has), or because Wada is a better alternative, but because he is their son.
The Yorubas in the state will lean towards Bello, they also share the sentiment of being marginalised by the Igala.
Numbers from Igala land always determine who the governor is, reason why Bello chooses Onoja as his running mate. It will be PDP thugs vs APC thugs in Igala land (as usual), if APC can get good numbers from Igala region, then Kogi suffering will go to next level.
Don't forget that Attah of Igala has been bribed with a Rolls Royce, and the reconstruction of Ejule-Idah road that is going on.

Are you trying to tell me 98% of the registered voters voted in Okene? There's no state or local govt in Nigeria since 1999 till date that had recorded more than 60% voter's turnout, except in this year governorship election result in Kogi central.

PDP recorded 100% turnout in 2003 in Bonny, rivers state and Nassarawa in 2007 elections.

The Kogi State Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yahaya Bello, has defeated his closest rivals, Musa Wada of the PDP and Natasha Akpoti of SDP, in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi Central.

The governor polled 112,764 votes to defeat Ms Akpoti of the SDP and Mr Wada of the PDP who both scored 50 and 139 votes respectively.

The result from the local government was signed by the collation officer of the local government, Olanrewaju Samuel, an associate professor.

The local government’s results is expected to be strongly contested as it claims none of the PDP or SDP could poll a total of 200 votes in all the polling units in the local government.

Okene local government is part of Kogi Central senatorial district. Ms Akpoti had criticised the conduct of the election in the senatorial district saying no real election took place there.

Emeka Ihedioha won his LGA with over 60,000 votes here in Igboland where our people are reluctant to vote and some people are complaining that Bello won with 120,000 votes in his own LGA that sees this election as a battle of survival of their ethnic group.
