I want to go watch it this afternoon, it has a 92% rating on RT. But I don't want to bank on that, RT has disappointed me before.

I want to personally thank Heath Ledger for Joker's success, wherever he is.

Not to take anything from Nicholson or Phoenix, but Ledger's performance elevated the character: took it to a point where filmgoers ears are tinged whenever they hear the name.

And SJWs too: their "cho cho cho" caught the public's attention.

All this rave about Heat is just because he is dead, Heat did not make the Joker, the Joker made Heat.
When I watched his performance he appeared like another Villain, nothing special.
I have seen better psychopaths, if Heat was alive today his Joker would have been like the rest - heck, his would have been behind Jack Nicholson.

Death turns sinners to saints, rich to poor, average to famous.

Million Dollar Baby: 4 stars out of 4.

I've always held the opinion that Eastwood is one of the most underrated directors we have.

Three things stood out for me.

The piano score that made the film poignant.

Hilary's performance in that it had the right mix of excitement and resolve.

The fact that it had a sad ending. I've never seen a sports film with a sad ending (Someone remind me)

As usual Freeman is typecasted here: the old dude that gives advice.

Besides, for someone with two Oscars for Best Actress, Hilary Swank is somewhat unpopular.

The champ. Now get off my lawn and go and watch gran torino

The Watchmen

Hollywood has a way of distorting things - it's not.
I would prefer all comic adaptations come as sequels to the comics, save the writers a truckload of trouble, instead of pulling the rouge right under those that grew up reading the comic books.

Regardless of Heath's death, he was great as Joker. He totally owned every scene he appeared, and overshadowed every other cast in the dark knight. Without doubt, Nicholson did great as joker, however, his performance was not totally superior to Heath's.

Lol,
You don't know Joker, The Joker has always been the star of the show in most (if not all) Batman comic series, so you see The Joker is like the mask of Nabu, it has a profound effect on any that wears it.
If fact playing the Joker is more like a career move.

TDK was supposed to be primarily about Batman, but somewhere along the line, it became a Joker movie. Intentional or fortuitous, only Nolan will answer that. All I know is this; Heath as Joker, dominated every scene and the story, including the few scenes he shared with Batman.

As a fresh-faced Batman fan, I was very resentful of this. I was like, "This is bullshit, it's not feasible for a supporting character to hug more spotlight than the main character..." However, on a second viewing few years later, I was able to see why Heath dominated the movie like he did; He was geniune. While others were merely acting, Heath completely became the Joker, and Joker became him.

They say there is a thin line between creativity and madness, my opinion is that Heath may have crossed that line. Bale said that stepping into a world of method acting, it's safer to leave a chunk of yourself behind, so that you can snap back to reality if you feel yourself slipping away. I feel Heath didn't get the memo. He fully embraced the persona of a unhinged criminal mastermind, and, thus, inadvertently set a high bar that others will now have to try and match.

Alas, actions have consequences. I don't think he fully returned from the mental challenging role, and coupled with his marital quandaries at that time, life may have become all too much for the poor bastard. They said his death was as a result of an accidental overdose... I don't think so.

From your POV, what do you think of Arthur and Thomas Wayne? Was Wayne telling the truth, or did you smell a foul play?

I agree with your last statement.

But disagree when you say there was nothing special about his performance.

I know many who would disagree with you too.

Judging by the way the guard at the Wayne Mansion reacted to the news of Arthur being Penny's son and the way Thomas lashed out at Arthur in the restroom.

There is a strong possibility that his mother was telling the truth

Joker is Batman half brother?
Now that is some fvcked up shiit.

The question remains would Heath be awarded that oscar if he was alive? So people still think it was "pity" award and i totally disagree. I have only seen few people change persona and incorporate himself so much into a role as well as Heath did in TDK, i mean i saw this guy in 10 things i hate about you and Casanova and he wasn't anything close to playing a deranged criminal mastermind in those movies. There were stories of him been in character through out production of the movie, even sleepless night coupled with the problems he had at that time. Two recent method acting of such caliber comes to mind for me Matthew McConaughey in Dallas Buyers Club and Gary Oldman in Darkest Hour and both ended in Oscar wins so Heath's Oscar was far from pity....imo.

There's nothing to it. If you get to the part where you're asked to input a passcode, type tfpdl. It will take you to a link page. Choose fireflies, and proceed with your download.
