The first primary school still standing while those built about 20yrs ago have all gone back to its ancestors. That tells us how the society is decaying inspite of our advancements in all facets of life

That was not the first primary school building in Nigeria.. school has been going on in Lagos,Calabar and other riverine areas.. Bishop Ajayi Crowder was among the slave,he was trained by the missionaries,he was the one interpreted English to Yoruba Bible..that school was his first missionary school..

The title is misleading it should have been the first primary school in northern Nigeria. For a fact bishop Ajayi Crowther was a pupil of the fist primary school in Nigeria at Badagry

I went to that school,,,,,,,,when my friend was graduating in 2009.

Haram means forbidden, learning/book forbidden

So many educated illiterates on Nairaland. Once you mention north, their brain process it as Hausa/Fulani.

Nigeria is smelling. All across the world people maintain their historical heritage by maintaining and upgrading its environment. Some countries those schools still function and are in glorious state/condition. In Nigeria, they celebrate its rotten, decayed state. Nigeria is all mouth no brain, class or desire to be better. All man for his stomach. Such a shame.
