What's the big deal about computer science, the few computer science courses I did in school, I scored 90 and above.

lol, GST or GNS computer coarses a purely for front end user while computer science it self is for backend user and thats pure maths

You are right. But this ain't abroad. There are courses with limitations and most Nigerian universities are good at dishing out strange courses to students these days. Especially those who just follow the bandwagon of "i don enter school" not minding the usefulness of the course in their immediate environment........

You never know the student's plans or future. He or she may end up abroad.
If so, the girl with Computer Science (from an African university) degree will obviously start her life with menial jobs whereas the one with Animal Science degree will jump right into her career immediately.
I agree with you that some degrees are waste but definitely not Animal Science.

Seems you're getting it wrong. I am not judging the students or the girl's plans. Just reacting to the courses based on my experience. Both as a professional, career adviser, and an entrepreneur.......

That is the reason why many of us see feminist activism, as pure bull sh1t, because there is absolutely nothing stopping any Nigerian woman, at least in the free world from excelling.

Unfortunately, there is no correlation between these brilliant academic success and the real world success(industry, enterprise, value entrepreneurship)... A good number of these women tend to drift off.

They either turn to needless social media feminists activists/noise makers, join their fellow women in selling shoes, bags & creams in the name of entrepreneurship or just become ordinary job hunters.

In my department, we produced 2 first class students who were girls. I dare say, that none of those girls is doing better than a number of us who didn't finish with first class degrees. They have drifted off (like I said earlier)... Selling shoes and making useless noise on social media, blaming men for their woes, while the men are grinding out there.

In Nigeria, yes she may struggle to get a job with such degree but abroad, the sky will be her limit and she may have the plan or opportunity to travel out.

These are people that deserve our celebrations. Not those whores that came out of BBN that we dont know their usefulness to the society aside twearkn and showing plastic udi.

It is because out there, in the real world, people don't care much for a woman's brain as much as they do their bodies. Women have to work twice as hard as their male counterparts for similar accolades.

Men can grind, because they are not exposed to the same level of dangers and discrimination as women. Do you know how many women get propositioned for sex at job interviews? How many men, on the average, can say they have had such experience? Do you know how many jobs prevent women from getting married and building a family? Has a man ever been rejected from a job because he is married?

Not to mention, the dangers of simply walking about at night as a woman.

They blame men because most of the time, it is men denying them jobs because they refuse to sleep with them, or because they are women and they think they will get married or get pregnant in the course of doing thejob. It is better to sell shoes in peace, than to work in an office where everyday is spent trying to escape molestation.
