Who does not know that you need a dictator to fix a country where nothing works?

In the time of Jonathan, leadership was so weak.
Nigeria had many presidents in Asari Dokubo, Patience Jonathan, Ango Abdullahi, Ciroma, etc.

Today, however, the narratives have changed, which is commendable.

Buhari may be bereft of leadership ideas, but his administration is right about the new policy.

You rarely see ASUU making efforts to curb examination malpractice and sex for grade among members or to improve research and innovations.

It's always about salary, salary and salary!

Why won't you stand with him? I don't have words for you. You're here supporting a dictator who can't even obey court order. One day, that breeze go blow reach your side

Whether Buhari is a dictator or not, university worker need to register under the IPPIS, some lecturers can't be teaching in two or more government universities when we have lots of masters and PhD holders looking for jobs, university workers should know that the federal government is their employers and the govt dictate how best the payment system they will employ so far they will not own you.

The good thing about the IPPIS is that it will open up employment opportunities in the university system, secondarily the union bodies in the university system will not charge their members more than the stipulated amount approved by the government.

This guys are criminals, what is big deal in joining IPPIS if there is nothing fishy. The worse thing is that they have the courage to come to the public and complain about it, without fear and shame, this shows the level our society has decayed. No doubt Buhari has his own big short comings but for this greedy, corrupt idiots to come out defend their stealing avenue shows we are finished. They also know many idiot like them will join them to call Buhari names without reasoning carefully that those lecturers needs to join IPPIS.

What makes lecturer different from doctors, nurses, engineers and Co that are in IPPIS.
My brother in Auditor General told me the level of corruption in Ministry of justice, Courts and universities personnel budgets, it is in billions of naira and they perpetuate it under the guise of being independent.

I beg, ASUU, go and sit down, do the right things and stop hiding under canopy of dictorship to attract sympathy from educated illiterates in the society. If you know he has bridged the constitution, drag him to court. Buhari, is somebody we need now to turn around the country for good, many people complaining and blaming buhari are either have skeleton in their cupboard, eating from proceed of corruption or born after morality was chased out of the country.

The more you hate Buhari, the more God is blessing him, you can ask all prophets of dooms and ipob members. God never granted their bad wishes against him, where are the ibops that asked for his head, called him Jubril and somebody that can never comeback from his illness?

Where are the likes of politicians that ganged up against him starting from Atiku, Saraki, Sheu sanni, Fayose and many others thinking they will disgrace him and stop him from coming back second time despite Dubai strategy ? They have been relegated politically. So, ASSU, please, park well, your sector is too corrupt, let Buhari, use APC broom to clean your dirty areas.

ASSU, should stop telling us big grammar that FG is not spending enough in education, ASSU should rather tell us and justify how well they are spending little government is allocating to them with the way they are just recruiting unemployable/yahoo-yahoo and skilless youths from our institutions through lazy and unskillful lecturers exchanging sex for grades

Why will government be wasting money in term of salary on professors and PhD holders who can not transfer useful skills they have acquired over the years during lectures on students that are expected to be leaders of tomorrow just because they are not talented in teaching and transferring of knowledge? Ordinary reaserches they are known for, many of them can't come out with any tangible research except copy and paste of student project and yet, they will blow grammar they are not getting sponsors from organizations as if organizations are working because of them to waste their money. Many organizations are ready to sponsor researches that are tangible and have future

There are many corruption cases going on in academic environment, government needs to take bold steps to sanitize the sector to revive education and makes it more functional. ASSU should allow Buhari to do needful!
Buhari did not turn around the country as a military dictator and cannot do so now

There is a reason why our best doctors and intellectuals leave Nigeria

The reality is any intellectual who really has something to offer CANNOT be bullied.
If we want Wordl class universities we cannot use short term thinking/
Even under the military universities were never cowed and will not be now

I remember Buhari as military dictator one day decided that striking doctors should leave their official accommodation WITHIN 24 hours
That is his mindset
He won that battle but Nigeria lost the war.
Now go to any medical school in Nigeria at least half their graduate leave the country a trend that started in the mid-80s after that debacle.

To pretend that Buhari is turning around the country is crazy

Now SARs march people to ATMs and extort them with impunity

That is a Buhari legacy

That is simplistic thinking
There is a very good reason why Universities need to be independent of government and that is why they negotiated a law
The question is does IPPSIS break the law? Yes or No

IPPSIS is what psychologist call FOOT IN THE DOOR
Once the foot is in there will be efforts to bring in the rest of the body then friends and family and before you know what you no longer own your house

Instead of acting dictatorially why not go to the National Assembly and repeal the existing law after all the government has a majority.

Universities will not attract quality people under these conditions and so our best people are leaving daily leaving us with chaff

For me I don't see IPPIS as away to reduce the independence of ASSU, national assemble commission is in IPPIS, Only judiciary and university are fighting this fight to the best of my knowledge. IPPIS is just to pay salaries, check mate years in service and age fulsification.
It is just like normal employee file open in HR's office, the only difference is it is central, computerised and managed by head of service.

It does not affect mode of operation or any other things they enjoy.

Since then I v stopped believing that independent nonsense, be independent but let's and be accountable.

Who are "you guys"
Young man calm down
We all want the best for our country
Is Nigeria the only country with universities
Yes we all want the best for our country and should debate it. No one knows everything. Even if we disagree we can still do so politely

I know for a fact that Buhari's children,Osinbajo's children and Tinubu's children do not attend Nigerian Universities.

My point is government should change the law if they want to do this government cannot be lawless

Government negotiated the current situation and if they want to change it they should negotiate
We all know if they try to force this through unilaterally what will happen but becayse their children are unaffected they do not care

On a different note I do not think the FG should fund the Universities directly rather we should look at debating a new model that ensures the Universities are funded from fees paid by students. Government could offer scholarships ,grants etc . Across the world different countries are debating how to fund university education and we must do the same too to ensure good quality over quantity

We cannot afford federally funded university education. Quality education is expensive and those who want it should pay for it

I do not know the details of IPPIS
My point is that this is a democracy and we have laws. Government should stop this top down with immediate effect military approach and negotiate with the University lecturers like adults and not treat them like children

The lecturers cllaim this is against the law . I am not their spokesman but i do know that If you go to church and they say stand up you stand they say sit you sit next thing they will say kneel down or lie down or take off your clothes.

So anything that looks like a challenge to autonomy will be resisted no matter how small because it could lead to even greater loss of autonomy
So note I am not even interested in discussing whether IPPSIS is a good thing or not. That is not the point
