Jose Mourinho is now the second highest-paid manager in the world after signing a massive £15m-a-year contract to become the new coach of Tottenham Hotspur.



Mourinho's new job with Tottenham confirmed his 4th return as coach in England after managing Manchester United and Chelsea twice.



On Wednesday, November, 20, the Portuguese manager, 56, signed a four-year contract worth £15m-a-year and jumped straight into the list of the highest-paid managers in the World at No 2.



Jose Mourinho now comes behind Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, who takes home £20m-a-year.

To get silverware you need the right tools and in Jose they feel they have someone who can achieve that within the shortest possible time or their growth curve wil stall and they wil be left with serious debts. So in him they have gambled 'their last pennies' hoping to repeat the Champions League feat of last season, a task that to all of us seemed next to impossible with the slide of Poch.

So it is not a matter of having money or not. In theory they donot have the money they are offering Jose just staking in anticipation of the Cha,ppions league results this season and a top four for the next. If Mourinho cannot do either or both then Levy may be out of a job. As management you must be seen to do something when your house is on fire.

I think overall it was too early for Tottenham to splash on infrastructure like they did for new digs. More successful clubs have been more cautious and slower to expand stadiums and training facilities. Chelsea and Pool for instance. The lessons of their North London neighbours appears to have been lost on them.

I would be very surprised if Poch takes another Premiership job this soon. He is more likely headed to Spain. He needs a breathe of fresh air.
