The whole south supported Jonathan in 2011 stop making it as an Igbo affair
The whole south saw a Chance to relegate the Fulanis that had held this country back for years

Even if the Igbo's knew they were going to be the biggest losers and extend the time frame for an Igbo president ... Yet we did it for the benefits of the south ...and nigeria at large . that tells you the mind set of the average Igbo man ....only for one part of the south to betray the agreement in 2015

Yes the Igbo's failed ,yes we tried to prevent a mistake like buhari ...

Now we are offering the north their chance back in 2023 ...like u did in 2015 ...north know Igbo's don't like them ,we know they don't like us ,but we form alliance when its important ...we don't pretend
The SE did what it did because I repeat it lacks foresight, the SW had already had it's turn so careless about who's coming in, the SS had a little stint as VP and later acting president, the SE was supposed to have theirs in 2015 but Igbo politicians blew it away.

Who and who signed the agreement?

Lol he was governor general. He held post high than awolowo could ever attain
As president he was the head of government ,
In a parliamentary system of government, the prime minister is the head of government.

You guys really don't get it ,Igbo's don't care about if we rule or not all we Care is getting equal chance

If we have regional government with regional police and the concurrent list is removed Igbo's won't care about abuja

We sacrificed our turn so we can get rid of Fulani dominance don't that show you the kind of people we are ?

Almost every tribe in nigeria are socialist in nature ,north ,west ,that's why they need power and are crazy about it

Igbo's and esan people of Edo are the only real capitalist I know in Nigeria

Even if all anini power he never cared to rule Edo state ...we are not power hungry ,

Igbo's can even support south south in 2023

We don't just forgive betrayals ,minus Islam we and Hausa's ( not Fulani's ) would he best partner in nigeria

2023 is not about power to south east but about paying back 2015

Continue backing others to your detriment, your choice but don't come back and start begging to be given the slot in any party and not after the election and a northerner wins, you'd start deafening us with "north born to rule mentality".

The way some of you display crass ignorance with so much confidence is really baffling. How can a ceremonial puppet with zero power be the head of government?

Azikiwe was the ceremonial head of state while Balewa was the head of government. There is no point arguing blindly just to feel good.

We could have ended the north burn to rule in 2015 but u brought it back ....history would remember that ....hope u are proud of your actions in 2015 n 2019

It's really baffling to say the least, they know nothing, won't even make any research to learn only to come online to say what they do not know anything about.

The SW had produced the president and the present VP since 1999 showing superiority over the SE that can't smell the positions, at least for now.
You can go ahead and deposit your 5% to the north, it doesn't change the fact that the SW is ahead politically

God! How can just one person be this ignorant?

Guy abeg, go and read up secondary school government textbooks and stop embarrassing yourself. This is no longer funny to be honest.

As regards your first paragraph, Zik did not appoint the prime minister. The leader of the party that wins majority of seats in the parliament becomes the prime minister and forms the government. The only role the Governor General/ President plays is the ceremonial invitation of the party that wins the majority of seat to come and form the government.

When Zik initially refused to play his ceremonial role after the NPC won the 1964 general election and kicked NCNC our of the ruling alliace, Balewa called his bluffed and went ahead to form his government. Zik then realized how powerless he was and quickly accepted the result and invited Balewa to form the government.

Sorry about the death stuff, it was actually @meleszenawi that said so.
When did Zik appoint the prime minister? Forget their functions for now.

The prime minister is usually the leader of the ruling party and he/she can be told to resign if other MPs are not satisfied, the Queen doesn't just walk into Parliament and picks anybody of her choice to become the PM, her appointment is merely ceremonial

As far as I know Nigeria' problem until tomorrow was Awo's obsession with competing with Zik in every sphere of life. It drove him to make decisions that were terrible and self defeating
Of course like Awo trying to become the premier of Western region at the expense of Zik.
Awolowo's land marks are everywhere in SW, show us Azikiwe's own in the East or better still in other parts of Nigeria.

Pan africanist who couldn't decipher the peculiarity of his immediate environment, even Awolowo in that popular saying when he told Zik "he should remember we have differences" and vision less Zik replied him "let's forget our differences".
Is it not that same differences that we all are suffering today?
You want to compare a man of vision with a shallow brain?, Awo was a sage.

Awo was a local champion, while Zik was a cerebral figure that played on the international stage as the most important and influential nationalist out of Nigeria. Zik is the father of Nigeria

Great Zik of Africa was the first president of Nigeria and the only Nigerian that became the first and last governor general of Nigeria after the British handed over.

Forget about the "hate bill" but this level of ignorance should be criminalised.

Anyone found to be this ignorant (and quite oblivious of his ignorance) should be detained at the Kirikiri maximum prison for at least 5yrs.........with hard labour.
