From the nose Thank you ma
Chimzy09:

Out of the nose or where? If it’s the nose, there’s no cause for alarm, it’s spit up missing it’s way into the nose (some babies take a while to differentiate their windpipe from their oesophagus)...Just make sure baby is not overfed, burp baby after feeding and keep upright for a while afterwards. It happened 4 times from the day my DD was born till she turned a little over a month old

There are two aptamil in the market. Which one did you give your baby. If you change her milk please kindly continue with the previous one
I didn't change her milk, she doesn't take any other thing apart from breastmilk. I'm trying to introduce her to other foods.

The aptamil that has more blue design is what I give my baby and she didn't vomit. But the other one with white design mothers complained that it made their babies to be ill. Like vomiting and stooping. Maybe your baby is lactose intolerance. Mother give their babies LACTOGEN. they say it's good.

My sisters please help ooo.

I need a little clarification.

1. I want to know if it's true that dropping breastmilk on a baby's eyes makes the eyes white and guards against infections.
NB: Baby's eyes has no problem.

2. Also, how true is it that dropping breast milk on a baby's circumcised penis will make it heal fast.

Mother -in-law feels it's the best and I have to do it.

Please advice

Lillianade:
Hi please listen to my story

I have a newborn and I am currently going through post parting depression which has weighed me down a lot over the few months. My mother in law is staying with us to help. Now with breastfeeding, it has really not been easy. I am in constant pain, It has physically drained me out and I also thinking it was contributing to my depression. When it’s time for breastfeeding, I would constantly cry and it was making me resent my beautiful child. Sometimes as a new mum you just feel like there’s nothing in the world apart from your breast and your baby, it was making me very miserable along with the other postpartum stress I have to deal with. I was just overwhelmed by everything. So I have decided to give my baby formula and at first I felt bad, but I noticed an immediate relief off my shoulders and my mood began to rise. My husband was also able to help me with feeding and I was just relieved.

Since I’ve started formula feeding my mil has been so abusive towards me. Calling me lazy, saying that I want to do shakara hence why I’m not breastfeeding. Calling me selfish and all sorts all because I don’t want to ‘compromise’ my sanity for breastfeeding. She also speaks in her native language (husband and I are from different tribes) saying all manners of things, all because I have switched to formula. I have discussed this issue with my husband, and he has tried to be supportive however he is just trying to please both of us, and he is encouraging me to do exclusive breastfeeding despite everything that I have been going through. He claims it’s the best for our baby. Now I’m back to square one and I’m just feeling so down, worn out and stressed. I just don’t know what to do.

My sister abeg do what makes you happy my own case is kinda similar but to avoid all this mil one has to play along with wisdom
When I gave birth to my son he was fed with formula because I had cs so when milk started flowing I was breastfeeding and still giving him formula only for me to get home few weeks after christening my in-law called to confirm if I am doing exclusive I said no they pleaded that I should pls do for the sake of my baby but see ehn I manage to till I resume back to work but first few day at work was a lot of work going to breastfeed him at the creche intervals after exhausting the milk I expressed when I saw the stress of going back and forth breastfeeding while working
I thought of giving hubby emotional drama he concluded sharply that he would rather do supplement than see his son going hungry the next day like this he came in with pack of baby food although we had an agreement of dropping milk at the creche for him then go breastfed while I'm less busy and strictly breastmilk at home but its a secret between us ooo if mum in-law ask na ebf we still dey do
At least i can concentrate on work small biko God will strengthen you if you sincerely can't abeg supplement heaven will not fall
Your husband is who you need to convince health is wealth oo

1. Please don't... My hubby's colleague wife gave birth to twins, boy and girl and the boy had eye issues, she was advised to put breast milk in his eyes, she did and that was the end of the boy's eye as it was badly damaged that they had to remove it...
Take baby to hospital if need be please.

My sis, the eye is a very delicate part of the body. Please don't put anything in your baby's eye.

As for the circumcision, penicillin is enough.
Biko save the precious breast milk for the baby that needs it grin

This is so sad, i don't know what people gain from giving rubbish advice to new mums. Imagine contaminating the circumcision site daily with breastmilk, the cut would probably develop an infection, and lemme not say what could happen after that.

I'm telling you. Everyone becomes a specialist and Dr once a woman gives birth. That's how my neighbor told me to use BM on my DD eye because it had a red spot at birth and I outrightly told her a big no. Funny enough, she just has one child o and she was busy dishing out DOs and don'ts to me. The red spot cleared on its own. May God help us all.

Most new born breathe like their nostrils are blocked it would get better as they get older. Hope that's not what you're calling cattahr.

If he has the whole runny nose, sneezing, uncomfortable catahrr package, continue with the saline drops and do steam inhalation at night too. Strange that he caught catahrr at just one week old, biko try to keep him away from sick people, too many people and other kids especially until he's a bit older.

If it continues you'll have to go back to hospital and ask them to run tests for infection. You may have to see a pediatrician and convince them that the catahrr is really catahrr or that it's really bad, cuz if it isn't, most times they would prefer to just let the baby build his immune system.

Does she go to creche. Keep her away for a while and the cough would disappear.

Pele, cattarh is one terrible sickness. GB had it as a newborn too. You'll have to really convince a doctor if not its vitamin C and dismissal. Next time you go, tell them you came to run test for infection cuz of 2 week cattahr. If the test comes out positive they would prescribe safe antibiotics for her age, if there's no infection, then you'll just have to continue home remedy until it abates. Please no self medication, your baby is still too young.
