They give more time for 3 reasons - when you go to trial, you are in essence saying that you do not believe that you have really committed these offenses, hence you have not taking responsibility for your actions. This is very very big in front of any federal judge. As for is net worth it is estimated to be around 13 million dollars, far cry from 10billion dollars and certainly not enough to own a private luxury jet not to talk of an airport.

NO! The system is not based on feelings and sentiments.
Its very straight forward. If you plead guilty, an officer of the court will visit you for what is called a PSI (pre sentencing investigation) report that will be presented to the judge before your sentencing. This PSi will basically tell the judge what kind of time he can imposed on the accused based on the federal sentencing guidelines.
Anyone that pleads guilty and accept responsibility for their actions will get less time than those that went to trial. This is done to encourage people to plead guilty because if everyone should decide to go trial, the system will collapse. People get arrested everyday by the Feds for one crime or the other.
It's about 3pm on the east coast right now. There are people that will be arrested before 6am tomorrow morning and they have no clue right now. They are at home chilling right now not knowing that the feds will be banging on their doors bu 5am tomorrow morning. Once they come for you, you are done for.

Understandably because they were at a disadvantage, the south were overwhemingly more educated than the North. The reason why we got our independence in 1960 and not earlier was because the North didnt have qualified people and they were afraid of domination, events have proved them to be right, hence why today we have a system designed to curtail the south. That system and the power to dominate the south would never have fallen into the hands of the North if there was no coup. Coup ushered military and military changed the rules of engagement. If there was no 1966 coup, there was no way parliarment could have usurped regional autonomy.

Ironically the ibos would have been better off because they had control over all the oil in the Niger Delta and were receiving 50% of the revenue. Now the oil is in the hands of the North and the ibo states go cap in hand to Abuja begging for crumbs!

This is the crime he committed according to us department of justice.

"Beginning in approximately May 2016, Onyema, together with Eghagha, allegedly used a series of export letters of credit to cause banks to transfer more than $20 million into Atlanta-based bank accounts controlled by Onyema. The letters of credit were purportedly to fund the purchase of five separate Boeing 737 passenger planes by Air Peace. The letters were supported by documents such as purchase agreements, bills of sale, and appraisals proving that Air Peace was purchasing the aircraft from Springfield Aviation Company LLC, a business registered in Georgia.

However, the supporting documents were fake — Springfield Aviation Company LLC, which is owned by Onyema and managed by a person with no connection to the aviation business, never owned the aircraft, and the company that allegedly drafted the appraisals did not exist. Eghagha allegedly participated in this scheme as well, directing the Springfield Aviation manager to sign and send false documents to banks and even using the manager’s identity to further the fraud. After Onyema received the money in the United States, he allegedly laundered over $16 million of the proceeds of the fraud by transferring it to other accounts.

Allen Ifechukwu Athan Onyema, 56, of Lagos, Nigeria, and Ejiroghene Eghagha, 37, of Lagos, Nigeria, were indicted on November 19, 2019, on one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, three counts of bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit credit application fraud, and three counts of credit application fraud. Additionally, Onyema was charged with 27 counts of money laundering, and Eghagha was charged with one count of aggravated identity theft.
