One thing I’ve realized on my journey to mastering a handwork is all workers are replaceable. If the company did not face closure the employers will get a new worker willing to collect less than the deceased and probably put in more effort. |

Useless lazy ass Nigerian regulatory body. Are they not suppose to be doing a safety routine check(s) monthly or quarterly to checkmate these glorified slavery going on in some of these production companies? |

This is a small case nah...go to INNER GALAXY STEEL COMPANY (a Chinese Company) in Aba Abia State, where workers die like flies and the rights of the workers there are violated everyday, they work from Monday to Sunday, 6am to 7pm, The Chinese hate Nigerians there with everything they have got, a place where no Nigerian is allowed to raise to any meaningful position, a place where you work with offer letter, a place where a Chinese who doesn't know anything about the job is imposed on you as your MASTER, when you finished work you passed to him and he takes the glory, a place where those doing the job are neglected and quarks will be employed to do the job so-far you can eat their shit. You are free to go there and carry out investigation yourself if you wish. This company is located in a remote village on Umuahala, Ahala Ukwu, Obuzor Asa. |

I once worked in a plastic company along Toyota bus stop, Oshodi, and I still remember very vividly an horrible incident that occurred then. A co worker, from another department, came to the production room to relieve his friend who wanted to go on 30 minutes break. That 30 minutes help he rendered cost him his right hand. The memory of how his hand got stucked in the plastic machine moles, and how the injector kept pumping extremely hot plastic (polypropylene) into the moles thereby cooking up the hand, and how, after concerted efforts, the two moles eventually opened up thereby revealing torn and cooked scattered fingers amidst serious smoke, was such a gory site to behold. All the Indian engineer could do was stand in shock with his body seriously trembling. A lot of these factories do not really consider the safety of their workers truly. |

We are not serious about safety matter in this country. OccupationalHealth and safety matter is not about going to University but it's about learning the process. Health and safety is about getting you hurt or ill through work. I need someone that can connect me to the Lagos State government or any state government in Nigeria I have an idea where we can reduce accident at work drastically and also creat an employment and also generate revenue through it. I need right connection. My name is Adetola Olowooloja Chairman Adetola Olowooloja and company. adetolaolowooloja@gmail.com. Thanks |

Reactive measures. After a man has died, they are sealing the facility. What ever happened to routine inspections to forestall such avoidable mishaps? Nigeria. |

Larryfest: Alaniyiokorausa:They would never be proactive for once! You only see them in action after the damage might have been done. The other day, it was a boy who was electrocuted. Another day, it was about three or four workers who were burnt alive by molten iron where they were having baths. There was a dilapidated building in Lagos marked for demolition for many months but officials wouldn't demolish the building. The residents of the nearest building wrote to them on many occasions to come and demolish the building before it cause more damage to the surrounding buildings but no response until the building collapsed and killed a resident in the nearest building. Officials finally came and told the occupants of the affected house too to leave within days, they demolished the dilapidated building alongside the new building where someone died. That's Nigerians for you |
