Life is the greatest inspiration. About 70% of my characters are based on real people, and the storylines are also taken from reality (I got the idea for The Other Woman's Wedding years ago when a listener called a late-night radio host crying over her failed relationship with a married man). I find myself asking what I would do in their situation, or how would others react. Most times I carry out intensive research for accuracy, and every so often I visit my local museum, asking myself if there's another story behind the picture. I may even listen to song lyrics to get into the character's mind. When I finally put words to paper, I take into account every emotion the character feels, but I take it a step futher by revealing their innermost thoughts, the emotions/words you never actually see/feel in real life. Then I edit. And edit. And edit... |

I think my love for stories inspired me to write my own. In primary school, I read short stories like Sugar girl mini and malaria and the rest. In junior secondary school I read a lot of stories such as chike and the river, without a silver spoon, one week one trouble, double trouble, Eze goes to school and a lot more. When I got to senior secondary school, I realized that I craved for more. A friend introduced me to foreign romance novels and I read them like craze. During exams, while my mates we're reading to pass, I was reading romance. I read the whole of Catherine coulter's bridal series. They are like 9 in number. I read the whole of Johanna Lindsey Sherbrooke's series. They were also like 9 in number. Reading became like a chocolate stain in my life that wouldn't let go and at a point, I began to toy with the idea of writing my own story. I didn't get to write it until the year 2013, ASUU went on strike and I was in my final year. I began my first story, "The Reluctant Bride." Today, I have written countless stories and get paid for them. It's really good to get paid for what you love doing. Writers are readers. I still read and I don't think i can ever stop reading or writing. |

LarrySun:You Larrysun, divepen, repogirl, tiffanyj, Roy we there was this other guy that writes fantasy/adventure I’ve forgotten his name but we got an acronym for his story then OMG his name is at the tip of my tongue anyways I was going to say literaturelanders especially the people I’ve just mentioned were my first inspiration to write. What drives me personally is the fact that books have done a whole lot to me. I’ve read books like Francine Rivers that made me cry like really reflect and cry. Books have brought me where I am today. Books are powerful and are capable of changing lives forever, a book like alchemist etc have made lifelong impacts in my life. That’s what I want, make someone better or be a part of someone’s joy or success story through my writing ![]() |
