A country that cannot secure its borders will always suffer insecurity and can never grow its economy from within. I pray that the federal govt also extend this to other numerous and unpopular illegal routes all over the country. 34 Likes 1 Share |

Although am not a fan of Buhari’s administration but I think this border closure is yielding some positive results, my concern though is that is should be a total closure and not partial in some northern neighboring towns.Nigerians should size this opportunity to be self sufficient in the production of certain goods and commodities. We can do it we have the population. It baffles me to to imagine Nigeria depends on Thailand a country of less than 70 million people for rice. This is not the time to start the blame games, Our youth should be more productive and stop looking for white collar jobs which are limited. Government should just map out a strategy to provide soft loans and equipment for people willing to go into agriculture, and you will all begin to see changes. 12 Likes 1 Share |

And yet parts of northern Nigeria is still experiencing smuggling. What is worth doing, is worth doing well. Total closure and actualization is needed 2 Likes |

If you're doubting the fuel smuggling to Benin Republic go and spend just one week in Idiroko. I served there. People are callous! 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Selective border closure. It is easier for Nigeria to enforce laws like criminal laws, tax laws, Traffic laws, Terrorism laws and other ones on Southern and western culprits or suspects than in the North. In the North, when you are a bandit, terrorist, law breaker, traffic offender, you will be pardoned even paid millions for you to stop. However, in the south, no shaking, na jail straight. This so called border closure will not be enforces in the north, same with other laws. |

Glycosunde: Benin feeds the southern smuggling. But please put this aside.. Don't confuse the letters for the word. Take Nigeria as yourself. wouldn't it be nice for you to be as assertive in the common issue of our/your negative tending situations in life. Wouldn't such a move add value and meat to you? Think so. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The way the borders were closed is unheard of. No consultations were made, analysts didn't debate on the pros and cons...He just woke up one money and closed the borders rendering the lives of Nigerians who borrowed huge amount of money from the bank hypertensive |

Nice move by Bubu, I support this totally although it makes our business very dull(it’s biting hard on me). Nigeria will benefit more on this; 1. It will grow our Agricultural sector(farming, poultry and animal breeding) and provide jobs for our youths both graduates and non-graduates. 2. FG will save some money on Petroleum products which is subsidized for Nigerians alone but end up in our neighboring countries. 3. If properly and strictly closed at the Northern part of the country which I believe most terrorist and bandits do enters the country, it will reduce the Act of Terrorism and Banditry ravaging our God given nation. God bless Nigeria. I was very surprised when I saw myself writing something good about Bubu. I never believed i will ever support Buhari’s policy and day. Bad boy gone good. #istandwithbubu 8 Likes 1 Share |
