Once your "genderize" any issue like that you've gone into the realms of today's feminism. You just took a careless argument and divided it into man vs woman preferential treatment. Why? You can't make that point without taking it that way? That is how it starts. And no, Chimamanda goes beyond that with her shitty gospel that is misdirecting young ladies and leading them the wrong way.

Chimamanda is giving gospel that works for her, anybody that wants to take it and run with it is on their own.

I don't believe anyone ever says rubbish, even in seemingly stupid things, there is wisdom if you sieve through it. It behoves on a person to take what they want and leave what they don't want.

I am a moralist to a large extent; I don't believe in fornication, I don't believe in deceit and other such things, but I am not religious.

That I am a moralist, means that while I have ideas on what is right or wrong, I don't necessarily like to bother myself on what others do with their lives. I don't support the depravity that has become of this generation, but on some days, I genuinely don't care for it, while on others, I speak strongly against it.

Long and short is, while Chimamanda says a lot of disturbing things, she still says some sensible things occasionally.

Jesus. this world is turning to something else

No wonder my 50+ yr old uncle in the USA still asks my grandma to look for a good Nigerian girl for him back home. He has spent more than 20yrs in the USA and his eyes must have seen things. Even my grandma warns us not to think of marrying Americans. They tend not to have stable homes. Divorce rates there are something else

Oho! You see am?!

We shouldn't even go into the ripple effects of this Feminism Chimamanda is unto now. The ripple effects are catastrophic: Innumerable broken homes, countless and countless of such. Divorce rates, up and up and up. The family unit is almost completely destroyed among those people. You see my brother it's not everything someone sees outside that he or she should import and preach to our people. That is actually what inferiority complex is. It's not everything about blacks that is bad. The family unit is still preserved amongst Africans and that should not change for anything!

All they do is crack, straf and hv children while they live on govt support. Why is it that African immigrants achieve more than them who re classified as Americans by birth?

They are very lazy

They are very lazy

They have been beat down all their lives, they are like that because society made them like that.

Africans from here did not have to face racism like them, they did not come into this world without a sense of self. Any time you call Emeka or Yomi that has been living in America all his life and ask him to point to his village, he will show you, can Marcus do same?

When you bring a child that grew up with both parents and you bring one from a broken home, you can tell the difference.

If you know anything about freewillists and determinants, you would not blame the woes of Black Americans all on them. They have been mind-phucked, just like South Africans. Many years of oppression has them feeling and acting worthless.

I wish I could show you one thread on this site, where one guy aptly explained why African-Americans are the way they are, but it was such an in-depth analysis.

Just be grateful you were born in Africa and you know your roots, you are grounded. Those African Americans no get ground at all, they are like fugitives without a sense of identity.

Madam racism is everywhere, I ddo experience it here in Europe almost everyday but that doesn't stop be from striving and working hard to have a good life.

Those folks are too dramatic and plays the victim always. Majority of them hate going to school than any other thing and finds it difficult to keep a job.

An average beautiful African American girl prefer stripping in night clubs or becoming a music video vixen than to go to school.

it is equal rights in every facet of life.

It is saying, let us work TOGETHER to build a family

It is saying let us share the Bills in a marriage AND the House Chores.

It is saying Let us Make Decisions as a team. Let my work be recognised as much as yours.

My father used to cook at home some times. My Father did his own laundry sometimes. My mother paid bills, my mother paid school fees too.

Marriage is "When I cook the meals, my husband should join me in washing dishes at least" it is not "Let me cook, clean and serve him while he sits and watches the latest football game" it is "while I'm in the kitchen, let him help the kids with home work"

Women are not saying they want the roles switched, feminism is finding a balance both at home and at work. So many men seem to not understand this concept.

My parents were not perfect, but their relationship was ideal in my eyes and that is what my own concept of a marriage should be.

Unfortunately history and most cultures have treated women as lesser beings. Women have been and in some cases treated as property and play toys to satisfy man's sexual urge. I am not speaking about feminism or any ideologies but mutual respect and fairness must be encouraged and practiced. It is not a sin for a man and his wife to work things together support themselves in all ramifications other than treatin them as baby machines, sexual objects, cooks, housemaid etc. Maybe if the girl child is treated with respect from her young age and sees the same done to older women around her, she won't become paranoid and become the detestable "feminists" the guys are complaining about today.

A Nigerian woman collects money from men doesn't mean all Nigerian women do that, but Nigerian men still generalize.

If you go online, see people warning their citizens against Nigerian men. You think it is one person that caused all that? Nigerian men are notorious o.

Same way you go online and see Nigerian men writing epistles on how entitled and gold digging Nigerian women are. Is it not generalization?

E Dey everybody body, no reason that one. If plenty people no dey do am, dem no go generalize am. How come they don't do same for Kenyan or Tanzanian men? How come Nigerian men are collecting the brunt of it?

They have blacklisted West African men as a whole, but you see Nigerian men, they have a special place in the hearts of scorned women
