This is a welcome development
still not good, is it because ur purchasing power will not be up to 10k?
Buhari and his northern cabals proofing to know what they don't know are disaster.
This inconsistency only confirms Emefiele is not fit for the job, and by the way who owns already collected 50k before the official collection date of Dec 1?

They must obey. Ask before you make payment

Useless country! Almost 70% or more of her citizens are living below poverty line, yet they want to introduce tax. You can imagine, if masses can cry out over just 50 naira I mean common 50 naira then truly Nigeria is indeed a headquarter of poverty

I wonder whether the CBN governor was even thinking when they introduced this tax. People attain high degrees and yet they are unable to impact society positively. They use their exalted status purely for personal aggrandisement.

It was just plain stupid to introduce a levy on all POS payments above 1000; how many payments are ever below 1k? This policy somersault and indecisiveness is a major minus from doing business generally in the country; the FG and its agencies need to be more proactive and better informed before rolling out/enforcing certain policies. The worst part is that they either ever do sufficiently wide consultations or just deliberately refuse to listen to sound advise until the negative outcome warned about actually begins to happen then they undertake reactionary measures and still find a way to blame ordinary citizens and they never take responsibility.

That Emefiele man knows nothing about managing economy...nothing. And now we are heading to another Recession
Emefiele knows.
Problem is Buhari and the cabal.
Few of the abokkis who have small banking experience are d ones making these policies and passing it to Emefiele thru Abba Kyari.
Emefiele himself has no option than play ball or they will sack him and jail him.

I stopped using POS immediately i discovered i had paid over 500 for a 10 times transaction via POS just for last month; so i decided to use cash now.
I now pay with cash and will continue till all the merchant obey this new policy. Why should I pay government extra tax when i am being tax from my salary and other goods and services everywhere with nothing to show for it.They will not eat my money via this channel.

The government plans to increase VAT by 50% meaning there might slight increment in price of goods and services. The effect may result in demand which may invariably lead to slight unemployment
