I was reminiscing recently about the good old days when I used to read a lot of Nigerian magazines and how funny they were etc. One particular magazine came to mind - LOLLY MAGAZINE!!

I remember some of the characters like Papa Ajasko and Dauda the sexy guy...Dauda was hilarious...he used to screw anything in a skirt. Back then as a young adolescent I considered the Dauda stories "soft porn". One time my vice principal almost nabbed me reading a copy of LOLLY MAGAZINE but I was quick to replace the magazine with a Mathematics text book as he came into my class...Phew! That could have been a disaster! Dauda vs. Maths...Dauda always won.

Now that I am grown I wonder if the characters were based on real life people. Most especially if that magazine still exist today...

Funtimes was published by daily times Nigeria and it featured the story of Benbella a detective that solves crimes if I remember well .. the middle section of the magazine has this woman would have been master of epic replies ..

She always epic response to every situation ..

Someone should help me with her name ..


Lolly has Dauda the sexy guy as it's lead character whose name was later changed to Nackson.

He screwing prowess was beyond imagination ..


I can remember the episode Fela challenged him ..lol

Ikebe super which is published by Wale Adenuga had characters like Papa ajasco, boy alinco, Bobo ajasco , miss pepeye, etc

Wale Adenuga also published super story at that time before it metamorphosed into TV series

Lastly binta which too evolved to TV series.

Thank goodness someone here knows what they're talking about. Fun Times was indeed published by Daily Times and didn't include Dauda or Papa Ajasco as characters. Instead there was this old guy Pa Johnson who never minded his business and always had an opinion; for some reason they changed him for a gossip lady called gbebele (Not sure of the spelling). Apart from him and Benbella there another character called Lulu, a total loser.
