Re-occuring fuel pump issues

Fuel Tanks
All too often, vehicles are refueled from a badly rusted or dirt-contaminated fuel tank and in some case water contaminated also, finely granulated dirt will be filtered out in the fuel filter but, in most cases, larger granulations of dirt will clog the filter screen attached to the fuel pump inlet and starve the pump for fuel.
Whenever a fuel pump is replaced, the tank should be inspected for dirt contamination, for loose fuel pump baffling, and for dents or distortions that can restrict fuel entry into the fuel pump or fuel exit from the pressure regulator return line. In some cases, a fuel tank can be cleaned with a hot solution of water and detergent, but in other cases, it’s more cost-effective to replace the fuel tank. If the plastic anti-sloshing baffles have become dislodged from the fuel tank itself, the tank should be replaced with one of the many available from OE or aftermarket sources.

Low Fuel Level Effects (reserve/empty)

If you are one who appears to have more than his share of fuel pump failures, it’s a good bet that you are running your fuel tank nearly dry before refueling your vehicle. Even with adequate baffling in the fuel tank, low fuel levels tend to cause the fuel pump to ingest air during acceleration, cornering, and braking. Since modern high-speed fuel pumps require gasoline to lubricate the pump bearings and cool the pump itself, it’s cheaper in the long run to run on the top half of the fuel tank.
One of the most important tips for diagnosing a fuel delivery problem is to check the PCM for trouble codes indicating a faulty fuel level sensor or sending unit. Another tip is to compare the fuel gauge reading with the relative level observed in the fuel tank after the pump assembly has been removed. If the fuel gauge proves to be inaccurate, it’s entirely possible that the driver is running his vehicle too low on fuel.

Relays And Resistors

When replacing a fuel pump on a vehicle with more than 100,000 miles on the odometer, the reliability of the repair can usually be increased by replacing the fuel pump relay as well. A relay wears out because it’s an electrically operated switch with two tungsten contacts that connect the fuel pump to battery voltage. In many cases, the relay contacts oxidize and fail to close properly, which can create an intermittent cranking, no-start complaint. In other cases, the contacts can stick together, which allows the fuel pump to drain the battery with the ignition turned off.

Best wishes to you.

please, my Honda Acura Car is recently giving me a challenge such that the odometer will come to zero and quench immediately I put the gear.

When the car starts, the odometer will be at the normal level or revolution but immediately I apply the gear, it will go down completely and off the engine. If I manage to move the car, the engine suddenly goes off immediately I apply the brake to reduce the acceleration completely especially on a hold up or a pot hole.

A mechanic suggested to change the six plugs with platinum NGK which I did but that could not remedy the situation.

Please, what exactly should I do as I am in need of an exact solution to avoid changing whole lots of parts without solution.
Please, I need your help!

Mobil Enugu has 5w30. I've bought from there. Go to Mobil at the enugu-ph and abakaliki junction. Close to nnpc mega station. You will find 5w30 there. It's the next best thing after 5w20. Or go to any total filling station and buy their 5w30 grade oil. You should be fine. If you can order the 5w20 from the numerous oil sellers here, then that will be a better solution. Steer clear of that 20w50 oil aka xhp

The DRL is controlled by a box under the steering wheel which also controls the headlamp, if they didn't work there, move to the bonnet and just infront of the battery, there is a small fuse box there, let a qualified technician check the fuses and relay there.

Then you move to the main fuse box infront of the brake oil container and check the fuse and relays there then the fuse box in the cabin where the coin holder is, check the fuse designation to know which to remove and check if connection is broken.

rear wheel Arc will touch tyre when 3 adults sit in the back. Tyre will touch frame when you turn fully left or right.

It is still fuse or relay as long as the former technician didn't touch vehicle wiring

Hello car profs, i have an issue with this Honda Accord 93, the engine runs well and AC cools fine but the problem is that car smokes for a few minutes in the morning and smoke stops. Mechanic fix adaptor on one of the plugs and advised that i manage the car like, he said the engine does not accept ringing or replacement of components. But my fear is, if i continue to use car like that hope the smoke wont escalate soon, truth is I dont want the smoke at all, what can i do to solve this problem? Thank you.
