‘Why We Picked Daura For University Of Transportation’ - Mohammed Babakobi by ijustdey(op): 1:30pm On Dec 02, 2019

The Director of Rail Services of the Federal Ministry of Transportation Engr Mohammed Babakobi on Monday said Daura was picked for the sitting of University because of the several rail initiatives coming up along the area.

According to him, there will be a rail siding running from Kano to Kaduna which would pass through Katsina and the international rail route that will run from Katsina to Jibia in Niger Republic.

He said the university will take off in 2021, and is expected to run a full gamut of specialised training especially in the rail system and on and modes of transportation. According to him, the Ministry is already working with the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Universities Commission to develop a robust academic curriculum will address the development of capacity in rail systems which has suffered the most neglect.

Daura needs commercial farm projects and not a transportation university. Ameachi and Co can only fool themselves.

Whatever the Motives for the Transport University in Katsina, it's democratically admissible. But Military Universities in Borno and Bauchi is Undue Decision wrecklessly taken.

The only reason the university was sited in Daura is because the president is from the place. The same reason a Federal university was sited in Otuoke during the Jonathan administration.

That's OK. As the President of the country, Buhari should at least take development to his village. Unlike Jonathan,who in a bid to please his northern Masters could not cite common railway station in Utuoke. Amaechi did it for him, in Buhari's regime. Shameful!

Let me see wetin go stop me from bringing development to my village when I have the opportunity to do so undecided

I see nothing wrong with siting the uni in Katsina.

As far as there would be one too in the south Rivers state to be precise.

All I see wrong is why construct a train from Katsina to Niger republic when the East does not have one.

Both the north east and south east in fact the entire Eastern part of the Niger doesn't have any single rail project.

They will always come up with lie to defend themselves, we all know that the only reason y they choose Daura was because PMB is from their, That was y helipad was built there, airforce even build their hospital there, army also built a cantoonment there. NNPC is also planning to build another hospital there, no wonder Buba Galadima once said if u enter Daura u will think u entered Dubai. I only blame Obasanjo nd GEJ 4 not doing same
