What's the economic value of a rail line from Katsina to Niger Republic? Is it just to service the Fulani and their Cattle?
Re: ‘Why We Picked Daura For University Of Transportation’ - Mohammed Babakobi by Agboriotejoye(m): 5:12pm On Dec 02, 2019
This is ultimately a waste of resources. There are so many universities in Nigeria that run transport mgt programmes well was highway and railway engineering. This nonsense is why abandoned projects occur

You are struggling to pay salaries of lecturers yet you want to continue to build new universities everywhere.

Africans should never have gotten any form of freedom.

Shut up. New universities were also established in Ekiti, Nasarawa, Ebonyi and 3 others. Go and check how many projects have been cited in Daura in the past 4 years.

No sir. Jonathan created six universities in the states lacking a federal university for equity and balance. There's one in dutsinma Katsina too

And Otuoke is the only town in Bayelsa that a university can be sited, right?

What about the Federal maritime university that was taken to Okerenkoko just to satisfy Tompolo despite the university at Efurrun?

A University that will not stand the test of time. Every Northerner is creating a University in His or Her home state which will not be recognized globally as a secondary school less a University. What a funny country and funny leaders.

At least he had the decency to make it have a national outlook not this sectional agenda. Look, they're even planning a rail from Kaduna to Kano as well as one from Daura to Niger their ancestral home.
The COAS and CAS are also planning such bigoted projects too.
All with resources from the south.
One almajiri here was saying they're giving us the presidency in return for southern resources. Can you just imagine!!

Atleast GEJ created six of such universities at a time, one for each of the six geo-political zones. But this one is partial. Imagine the fate of the proposed Federal Maritime University Okorenkoko near Warri in Delta state. If that university were proposed to be sited in the North, I don't think it would have sufferd such ill fate.

Coldie:
I see nothing wrong with siting the uni in Katsina.

As far as there would be one too in the south Rivers state to be precise.

All I see wrong is why construct a train from Katsina to Niger republic when the East does not have one.

Both the north east and south east in fact the entire Eastern part of the Niger doesn't have any single rail project.

Oga, the Itakpe-Warri Rail line, which will be set for full operation early next year, will pass through several towns, including Agbor which is 70km East of Onitsha.

The design of the 2nd Niger Bridge has already been modified to include a railway at the center. The plan is to link the rail in Agbor through the 2nd Niger Bridge to the main market in Onitsha.

So, please do not say what you do not know.

The Director of Rail Services of the Federal Ministry of Transportation Engr Mohammed Babakobi on Monday said Daura was picked for the sitting of University because of the several rail initiatives coming up along the area.

According to him, there will be a rail siding running from Kano to Kaduna which would pass through Katsina and the international rail route that will run from Katsina to Jibia in Niger Republic.

He said the university will take off in 2021, and is expected to run a full gamut of specialised training especially in the rail system and on and modes of transportation. According to him, the Ministry is already working with the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Universities Commission to develop a robust academic curriculum will address the development of capacity in rail systems which has suffered the most neglect.

One of the many reasons Nigeria is a backwater. Does Daura or even Katsina by its natural stance create several rail initiatives for rail transportation? How does Daura create more rail transport initiatives than a Aba, Lokoja, Port Harcourt or Kaduna. When transportation is discussed as a subject, it is about a section of engineering, namely Civil Engineering. How does Daura create room for University of Physical Sciences, Engineering and Technology more any village in Nigeria? For intent and practical purposes, Daura is persistent farm village. I urge Mohammed Babakobi to shut his putrid mount on the reasons he and fellow goons picked Duara. If Muhammadu Buhari does not exist, there is no way on earth Daura should even mentioned in the crop of villages considered as site for University of transportation. This is a form of idiocy only found in Nigeria. I guess there is no other place in the world where such university existed since transportation is a part of Civil Engineering discipline.

They will always come up with lie to defend themselves, we all know that the only reason y they choose Daura was because PMB is from their, That was y helipad was built there, airforce even build their hospital there, army also built a cantoonment there. NNPC is also planning to build another hospital there, no wonder Buba Galadima once said if u enter Daura u will think u entered Dubai. I only blame Obasanjo nd GEJ 4 not doing same

Buhari is just dividing this country the more, because of his Clanishness and Nepotism. He is no longer President of Nigeria but President of Fulani and President of Northern Nigeria
Stealing the resources of the South, to develop the North. Everything is "in the North", he even ordered international NGO's to operate ONLY in the North or get out of Nigeria. Evil soul, his hatred for the Southerners is unimaginable
Aaah, this man was a grave mistake by the likes of Tinubu (he and the whole S/West will leave to regret supporting this man, come 2023).
Just Negodu. undecided
