Hmmmmm If at any point I made it seem like my motive here is to drive away potential customers. I apologise sincerely, I hate apologising but sometimes it's good to be the better man. I have never intended to chase away anyone or potential customers. All I wanted to do was enquire and share my little knowledge . And also draw light to the fact that Xiaomi is not a perfect brand. And most importantly stop the others from demeaning other brands. I avoid insults in the same way it will be very heartbreaking for me to chase away potential customers. I only point out what I see necessary. Xiaomi irrespective of my comments is a good brand. Even though I have not used it the praises are enough to tell how good the phones they are producing are. And when I can I will get a MI device. But all my comments from the first up till now. Is not to draw attention away from this thread but to give attention to certain addressable issues. Please clear the misconception

In your bid to draw the light to the fact that Xiaomi is not a perfect brand, you end up coming across in a way that seems that you are demeaning the brand (something you want others to stop doing to other brands).

There is no perfect brand, and there is no guarantee that the unit you get would be a perfectly okay brand (you could get an iPhone, Samsung, Xiaomi, Nokia or Huawei today and have it explode in your pocket tomorrow (and they all have had explosion stories)). That does not mean that the entire brand is defective. When you mass produce commodities, you cannot have 100% efficiency.

When you have a large number of defective devices (the large number of exploding Galaxy note 7 units, the large number of defective Xiaomi M365 scooter units, the millions of Toyotas recalled because of unintended acceleration (killed quite a few people)) that land in the market, a product recall is issued because those defects are atypical (extraordinary) and unacceptable.

This is why Warranty exists.......... to cover defects that are not user inflicted.

Hundreds of thousands of Playstation 3 units were plagued by the yellow light of death anywhere from day 0 to within 3 years of use..... My first two consoles both died within a month of use (the first lasted 9 days). No one else that I knew had a defective unit, that didn't make the PS3 a failure. And Sony went on to sell over 80 million units.

Conservatively, 5% of devices (consumer electronics) are expected to fail (read die!) within the first 365 days and 15% within the first 3 years.

Dark theme is boring on devices with IPS display.

Drops Mic

Not necessarily, it depends on the quality of the IPS panel, and although Amoled screens will achieve deeper blacks (due to the fact that each pixel lights up individually and turns completely off to achieve black vs the led back-lit IPS panel), still patterns sustained for extended lengths of time can cause burn-ins where afterimages become persisted due to the decay of the individual Light Emitting Diodes decaying at variable rates....

IPS (in-plane switching) panels are also rated as the easiest to read off of.

I just summarised everything you said in one sentence.

IPS and AmoLED panels in mobile phones are like LED and OLED panels in TVs. Which panel have perfect blacks and wide colour gamut? OLED right?
We're not talking about Burn-ins here. Besides, OLED technology is getting better and measures are implemented to prevent image retention.

See ambient or always on display on phones with AmoLED panels. The clock and other widgets change position every few seconds to prevent burn-in

Not quite, I do not agree that dark themes are boring on LCDs that incorporate the IPS technology, as with most things in this space, it is highly subjective.

True, but you already know which one looks better. Let's not escalate this argument.

What kind/type of casing is the best? I noticed the last case I used on my note 4 gathered dust, which causes scratches on the back of the phone.
