First, bigger doesn't always mean better. The movie that appeals to the fans the most will ultimately win, and my smart money is on MCU's Black Widow, going by MCU's almost 100% success rate in the B.O.

2nd, a month cushion is not enough. A post-movie hype can exceed 6 months, and sometimes can even last a full year - history has acquainted me with this fact. Remember when Endgame destroyed Shazam commercially? Or, further back when TDK (2008) took Iron-Man (2008) to the cleaners commercially? Bottom line, releasing a movie close to the competition is very risky, and it's a coin toss ascertaining who comes out tops.

3rd, the fact is Disney has very doting fandom all over the world, particularly in China and Japan - two huge markets, and this gives an MCU superhero movie a considerable edge over the competition.

4th. No Time to Die is a different genre movie, and thus, not a direct competitor, and besides, Bond movies are not exactly known for setting the B.O on fire. Black Widow should be fine, methinks.

Fini.

Yea, I know bigger don't always mean better.

Months of Post movie hype don't rally as big as before. Besides Endgame and Shazam had only 3 weekends apart. And Shazam wasn't intended to make mega bucks, expectations were pretty decent. The results for Shazam were expected given its closeness to Endgame.
Besides, in recent times, movie I can still remember rallying strong for over a month +(asides Endgame) was Joker where it destroyed every other movie from Terminator, IT, Gemini Man, Rambo and Maleficent.

DC /Wonder Woman also has huge fan base, including China (evident in Aquaman). Also worldwide, Suicide Squad and Joker comes to mind since they both didn't release in China and were Successful financially, even though the previous was a bad movie overall.

I'm not really even bothered about No Time To Die, I just used it to buttress my point . The real threat will be from Fast 9 franchise and we all know it's a juggernaut box office wise. It's release few weeks after Black widow and few weeks before Wonder Woman 1984. That's main reason why I think Widow won't be lit in the box office as you think. It will make money sure, but I don't see it surpassing $800mn. TBH anything around $650-750mn. Dr Strange like/ Ironman 1 numbers.

Besides, movies don't ball several months after release unlike before. Even Endgame drop dead after 6 weeks upon all it's hype and anticipation. It only needed 3-4 weeks to make all the money it needed, that's how box office work these days.

Only Joker I can remember broke the norm recently. Probably cos of in part Oscar season chatter and controversy.

Bro, MCU movies post-theatrical release hype is typically 2 months, and often can go up to 4 months (Endgame comes to mind). I live blocks away from a popular movie theater, so I would know. How do you think they make so much money? They release digital copies only when they have finished miking theatrical sales to their last drop.

Fast and Furious won't do shit to Black Widow's B.O success for the same reason No Time To Die's premier won't directly effect it - it's a different genre movie. Fans can watch both consecutively on the same day, because they tell different stories, and chart different themes.

Bro, Captain Marvel that wasn't interesting somehow managed to make it into the billion dollar club. That's the power of fanbase. If a not very well liked character like Cap'n Marvel could smash the B.O, what makes you think fan favorite, Natasha Romanoff, won't do the same? Can't honestly remember the last time a MCU film failed to cross a billion dollar mark. Suffice to say, Black Widow's tremendous B.O success is all but guaranteed. Bookmark this page for posterity.

Stallion should retire, Man already looks and walks like a robot. These celebrities living on past glory should know when to quit. He has no business doing movies anymore. The last installment of the Rambo franchise was one of greatest pile of horseshit I've ever seen on television, It has one of the worst OTT action scene, if you can call it that, it so bad you loose IQ and brain cells. Baba should retire, Although I know they always come back for the money anyway.

Well, to me, the movie was just there, it wasn't good, neither was it that horrible though. I think the wanted to try something different, but they made a terrible by being unoriginal with the story & secondly, instead of making the Action-Drama directly proportional to each other, it was made inversely proportional, with the later occupying a larger percentage than the former, thus, they basically strayed away from the original formula because baba is old & wouldn't be able to do some of those sh.it he did years back. But to be frank, baba really tried as regards the Drama aspect & I totally agree with kendrick93 that it should have been a standalone movie.
But seriously when has the movies in Rambo's blood franchise ever made sense. As regards the action, my brother, it's basically the same sh.it throughout the franchise. It just like picking one of Chuks Norris missing in action over the other, it's basically the same sh.it.. It's a just switch off your brain, suspend believe & enjoy kinda movie.

This is the film I have decided that I am never gonna watch, for the fact that instinctively, I'm well aware that it's a dumpster fire. I just cannot bring myself to suspend belief that a seventy something year old man ( practically alexistaiwo's age mate) can cut through able bodied young men like they're nothing. It's a physical impossibility to say the least.

Lolz..Chairman, how did you know he cut through able bodied young men as if they were nothing?.. I can remember you saying you haven't even seen the movie yet & you ain't planning on seeing it. The fact is that he didn't do it with ease.
And again, it's not entirely impossible sir, even for a man as old as Rambo. Don't forget, he's a war hero, a fvcking killing machine, our people say that An old woman doesn't grow old or forget a dance she can dance or dances

From the anatomy POV, there is an angle you'd hit the rib from especially that point were the Costal Cartilage joins the Sternum( as we all know, Cartilage are soft, firm connective tissues unlike their bone counterpart).
If with a knife(the Rambo's kinda knife), you trust towards that particular point with force, you should be able to separate the Sternum from the Costal Cartilage, which bears the rib. And once this is done, you can easily break through the rest of the ribs by placing the knife at the already displaced rib & sliding down in a vertical motion, with at least minimal force & you should be able to displace all the ribs in that position, down to the 10th false rib.

Muscle memory never goes away, that's why in testimonial matches, long retired soccer legends are often seen playing with flair, but without their youthful speed, and quickness of movements agility, due to their advanced age. It thus makes for a friendly match played in a sluggish pace, but elegant manner. You should note that the average age of these ex-professionals is usually between 40 and 60 years, and yet, their strength and stamina have considerably deteriorated, as opposed to soccer players still in their prime.

So to address your postulations, a 70 year old war veteran will probably still be a deadly foe with a firearm, but in a close-combat, they are at a considerable disadvantage. Due to muscle memory, they will most likely still recall combat skills, and pressure points of the anatomy, but will lack the speed and vigor needed to execute them efficaciously and precisely. At the end of the day, they will invariably have their old assess handed to them by a lesser trained, but much younger and stronger adversary.

So my point still stands, it's a physical impossibility for a 70 year old guy to cut through a throng of able bodied young men alone. It's a ridiculous notion.

Rambo (2019) wants you to suspend belief, but alas, they took their outrageous ideas too far.

He didn't cut through a throng of able bodied young men(that's very ridiculous na, Haba!!), he cut through just one man, their boss. You seem to forget that anger to a certain extent, triggers the adrenaline, and when the adrenaline rush is triggered we seem to act twice or more than our normal pace.
Muscle memory is also the ability to build super strength and never loose it. Sure old age leads to decline of physical strength, no doubt, but there are people who have actually defied all logic and have actually gotten better with old age.

Let's take Boxing for instance, in boxing, the prime age for the sport is probably 20 or less, while at 50+ you're already regarded as an old man and should retire, but they're some old boxer's who has proven that age in fact is just a number. At their 50s, these boxers beat up boxers far younger than they are, fighters in the prime of their career. Boxers like, Larry Holmes, Archie Moore, Big George foreman, Roberto Duran aka hands of stone & Bernard Hopkins etc...these old boxers on some occasions, defeated undefeated champions who were in their prime age thus, justifying the saying that age is just a number. In my community, there is actually one old man, probably in his mid 70s, who would hand some niggahs their arse over to them in a brawl. This old man has the vigor of a 20 year old & still does manual labor, as in clearing a whole one & half plot of land filled with weed in a space of just few hours. The secret to his strength according to him, is that, he eats health, sleep well, he doesn't drink, smoke and fvck (yeah, he lost his wife when he was 30 something years of age & since then, he claimed he has never fvcked).

I still stand on my argument that it's not an impossible feat for a 70 year old veteran war hero to cut through an able bodied young man, taking his emotions at that particular time into consideration. Just search for that particular scene and watch, & you should have a clearer understanding why i insist that it is not an impossible or ridiculous feat.

Bro, you watch too much movies that you've momentarily forgetten what real life entails. Imagine saying a 70ish old man can best a young man in a close-combat?!? 70 years old! That's a nursing home/ride on a wheel chair/use walking aid/use adult diapers age, bro.

If you're so physically weak that a 70ish old man can wipe the floor with you in a close-combat, good for you. As for myself, I know for a fact that a 70ish old man cannot land a single punch on me, war veteran or not.

Most of Rambo's kills in Mexico were stealth kills. He killed guards by surprise.

Most of his kills at the ranch were from traps and shooting.

I dont recall many hand to hand combats. Except where he was beaten by 100 Mexican guys

Joker 2019

This movie is beautifully shot and the acting (especially from the titular character) was top notch. When phoenix took off his shirt his body is quite ... So I'm guessing he lost a lot of weight for the role. It's always nice to see people who are dedicated to their craft.

However, I must acknowledge that watching this movie felt like a chore. The movie takes "slow burn" to a whole level. In fact, it took me three days to get through the movie. The ending was quite cathartic and interesting but the majority of the movie just dragged on and on.

A lot of people have gone as far as saying that if you don't think that this movie is the best thing to happen to cinema, it's because you are dumb and have a low IQ. I think that has made some people who may not have enjoyed the movie to jump on the bandwagon for fear of being bullied.

Another problem I have with this movie is that this is too little of the Joker in it.
We only get to see the joker at almost the tail end of the movie.
Granted, this is an origin story, but that is still not enough excuse.
Now imagine if you went to see Iron Man 1 and the movie was basically about the arrogant weapon manufacturer who gets kidnapped, builds an iron suit while he was kidnapped and then ends when he escapes from captivity. This concept will still be interesting but it doesn't have enough Iron Man in it.

I also have a question. Where does this joker fit into when looking at the big picture? Is he supposed to be the same joker in suicide squad?
He looks like he is in his late 30's or early 40's but Bruce looks barely 11 years old. So am I supposed to believe that in the future this uncharismatic man in his late 50's to early 60's will pose a problem to Batman?

Unpopular Opinion: I enjoyed Terminator: Dark Fate.

I saw Terminator Dark fate last week, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
The acting was passable, the action scenes were top notch, the characters were likeable and The de-aging technology was also really good.
I don't regret the money I spent on the movie and I'll see it again when the HD version is available for download.

That being said it is easy to see why people hate this movie.
In order to enjoy this movie, you'll have to switch off your brain and just enjoy the spectacle , because the second you start to think about it, nothing makes an iota if sense.

For instance, how did the end of Terminator 2 prevent judgement day from happening?

OK. Let us suspend our disbelief and say that indeed the events at the end of the previous movie prevented Skye net from rising, then how was John Cornner killed. If Skye net no longer exists, then who sent the terminator?

How can a Terminator age is he doesn't eat food.

How did Sarah know that the Terminator will be at the bridge when she showed up?

If the lady that came to protect the Mexican girl knew that her core was the only thing that could defeat the Rev 9 Terminator, why didn't she bring an extra core with her when she was coming?

But like I said, as long as you don't think too much about it, you'll definitely enjoy the movie.
