Wilder and Fury already fought and that fight went the way to 12 rounds, and Fury clearly would have won on points because he outboxed Wilder every single round. His only saving grace to get the draw was the late round 2 knockdowns he scored against Fury, and even at that "everyone" says Fury should still have won that fight on points, not a draw.

I agree with you it wouldn't have been a smart plan for him and that is because he cannot brawl with Andy Ruiz and win. He did what he had to do but I a telling you as a boxing Guy that people watch the heavyweight division for knockouts. Historically that has been the case. All famous heavyweights aside Mohammed Ali are known for knockouts, infact Mohammed Ali was hated while he was a boxer because he didn't knock much people out, it was until he retired that people started liking him.
