Gurus in the house, please who has used Volkswagen golf 4 with automatic transmission. What is the experience with the car? Do you advised one to buy it?

Buy it my broda, it's easy to maintain and fuel efficient. I drive one.

A nice car,rugged with an engine that can tolerate abuse.
But,you must have an above interest in cars to be able to own and maintain it or be willing to learn.
Then be sure you have an experienced Volkswagen mechanic who owns a compatible scanner nearby.
The electronics on that car(maybe the spec I own) is more than that on a 2008 Camry.
1 little sensor could lead the car to refuse engaging gear and na only scanner or highly experienced mechanic fit save you.
Balance on the highway is superb,like that of Mercedes.
The body remains neat forever except you go about hitting people.

Don't let the sterotype get to you. Honda cars are great. The civics are really great ride.
Though the accord of the 6th and 7th generation was plagued by transmission issue, but it was corrected in the 04/05 models.

I know a lot of detractors will bring up the leg issues but it happens to all cars and just get oem and pay attention to the shaft and you are good to go.
