Let him Bleep off. Will he die if he isn't reappointed? Nigeria is the only country in the world where someone would spend all his productive life in the public service and yet be spending money like an Arab sheikh. Look at a rodent like Rotimi Amaechi for instance. Zero private sector experience and accomplishment. Been in government from the beginning until now. Useless people.

Go and start a business or work in the private sector or something. Prove yourself there and make your fortune there if you're that good. All these feasting on public funds for an entire lifetime is so annoying.

The tenure of the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr Babatunde Fowler, ended on Sunday with no indication that he would get a second term in office.

Fowler, who is a childhood friend and former classmate of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, was appointed as the FIRS chairman on August 20, 2015

He was confirmed by the Senate on December 9, 2015 which implies that his tenure ended on December 8, 2019.

The FIRS Establishment Act stipulates that “the executive chairman shall be appointed by the President subject to the confirmation of the Senate.

“The chairman and other members of the board, other than ex-officio members, shall each hold office for a term of four years, renewable once only.”

Findings revealed that as of Sunday, there was no indication that Fowler’s tenure would be renewed for another four years.

Sources at the FIRS confided in our correspondent that since Sunday was the last day of his tenure in office, it was expected that the handover would be done on Monday to the most senior director in the agency.

Findings revealed that Fowler might hand over to the Coordinating Director in charge of Domestic Tax Group, Mr Abiodun Aina.

Aina was also the special adviser to Fowler.

He should just return to Lagos. After the recession when oil price started to increase a little bit, I have advised Kemi Adeosun, Babatunde Fowler and Ben Akabueze and other Lagos team members ( Kemi Adeosun relocated from Abeokuta) that relocated to Abuja in the heat of recession to supervise a highly battered economy abandoned by the previous government to resign and return back. Nobody incriminates you in crisis period when you are under tension and your position is not attractive because they cannot meet its demand.

As usual, in Nigeria, in crisis period, under the situation that requires a very high level of cerebral power and intelligence, you don't find some people, but when everything is stabilized and a period to make money, you see them manoeuvring their ways to takeover the position.

Fowler did not become Chairman of FIRS because he was a childhood friend and classmate of Osinbajo, he left Lagos for Abuja in the heat of recession, he was the Chairman of Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) for several years the position he left to relocate to Abuja.

In the last few months, news of the expiration of his tenure has been frequent with a lot of blackmailing. He has tried his best.

We believe in our darling Daddy,
President Muhammadu Buhari and his AMIABLE Vice President PROF YEMI OSINBAJO to make the right decision on this particular appointment.

Fowler has done very well this past year.
It is either he his re-appointed or another capable hand continues from where he stopped.

We love them.
We stand with them.

God bless Nigeria.

Nigerians are so unfair with the way we communicate things

Is this the basis for his appointment as FIRS Boss or he fit the position?

This man crippled a lot of business by imposing estimated tax based on Turnover and not profit. Placed liens on company accounts with the Banks and lien would only be removed after you have settled.

Don't know if he embezzled but one tenure should be enough to have secured something good for his generation. Na Redeemed connect pastors, him and Osunbande.

As he did for Buratai and others. If Fowler handover, then others should also be replaced.

How can Fowler's tenure end?

Dude will get a second term.
He is most qualified in terms of shrewdness to help implement the newly passed Finance Bill of 2019 that introduces a new taxation regime.

Besides that, the FIRS under his command raked in massive revenue for the FG.

And for the then Minister of Finance; Kemi Adeosun though his superior to always address him as "egbon" in meetings show that he is firmly rooted.

The animals that commands the jungle careless about figures.

I'm tired of that guy. He claims to be a Christian and has even invaded our basketball thread.
Christians are led by GOD'S spirit. Is GOD happy with the way Buhari is ruining Nigeria? Basketball fans are generally smart but the BBQ guy is an exception to the general rule.

Has Buhari made a single mistake in his administration?
Has Buhari disobeyed any court orders?
Has Buhari apologized for truncating our democracy during his military days?
Has Buhari apologized for backdating decrees and giving out the death penalty for a crime that didn't deserve it according to law?
Does Buhari know the "technology" that was used in gov Ganduje's bribery video?

You're a disgrace to Christianity. You can never tell the whole truth. You're an embarrassment to common sense .

Just because I'm against apc doesn't mean I'm for pdp. They are both useless. None of them could develop this country even in a hundred years. Say the truth the way it is. Our president is a demented old man who cannot make a Google Search unaided. Our president cannot run the USA or any developed country. It's not all about integrity. Integrity without competence is useless. Our president may not be a thief but he's not smart and intellectual enough to lead this country . He wants to revive our economy but he doesn't know the difference between capitalism and socialism .

Where are all our intelligent,ivy-league educated Nigerians ? Why can't we get the best brains to rule this country ? All we have are bald-headed, pot-bellied looters and murderers who can't even pass the SAT.

Mehn our leaders are unintelligent .

Who gets an extension or not is solely the decision of the president. All appointed political office holders holds office at the discretion of the president.
