na wa o, there's nothing unusual in wanting a second term in office which is constitutional, and there's no biggie in the request being turned down. why do some people just revel in bad news about some people?

It's not begging, he believes he still has much to offer his fatherland.

But no, we operate in an insane society, where ethnicity, greed and intellectual decadence rules.

In saner society the president should be prostrating for this man to continue but here we are.

It happens in all spheres of our society :you see youth with huge potential in a particular sport not being called to national camp because of greed of someone, they prefer to jeopardise the national chances and benefit their pocket

I'd find from the date,co wouldn't really refer to it as long since it was dates the same day his tenure was to expire.

He was more likely acting act as a courtesy not to be seen as acting too big to beg for his job.

And I believe somebody within advised him to go that line and ended up leaking it to the public

That paragraph about representing oneself is so standard in public service practice as to be almost boring. I think we should all look at the date the Letter was written, who lobbies for a position on the day they are meant to hand over? A replacement must have been shopped for months ago.

If southerners are not happy with the appointments, they should express their displeasure when they takeover leadership of the country. All these noise we are making doesn't go beyond our ears, action they say, speaks louder than words.

They simply needed Fowler to introduce the magic done in Lagos to generate a lot through LIRS.

The moment they saw the magic in play and understood it, they constantly put him under pressure to show more and more. They have seen the potentials of FIRS especially in the area of generating income, employment and most importantly, how powerful the agency can be.

They are now keenly interested. There was no way they were gonna retain Fowler. The only painful part was that Fowler failed to flood FIRS with the Southerners. He kept assisting the northerners to flood FIRS with their persons. Their strategy is to load up the essenetial agencies and parastatals with northerners so they retain control even if power switches to the southerners.

Fowler should have known that he couldn't have convinced them to retain him. Just flood the place with southerners especially the top management level. Simple.

However, southwest people are always disgraceful when it comes to executing such agenda. Northerners, Southeast and Southsouth will do it without fear or hesitation.
