una good evening o. I borrowed a friend of mine about 200k some 4 months ago. He said he wanted to add it up to his and get a car. He actually promised to pay it by month's end of that same month, but up till now, i haven't received a dime. He keeps saying he doesn't have the money, which i find hard to believe, considering e-hailers make at least 100k+ per month. He does the e-hailing full time BTW(5am-7pm).

Abeg, i will like to know if this guy is saying the truth, or he doesn't want to give me my money. Na this guy dey hold my Christmas and new year money laidis cry
He is saying the truth. Especially if he bought a Dead car.
Don't ever believe what you see on the dashboard.
Myself, I netted over #217,000 on uber in one week last Christmas. Till date, I don't know how that money vanished.

Well some Nigerians who are time conscious also hail a cab when they are ready.

Some establishments like where I work, focus on time utilization. Ever second counts.

I read about Orezi's ordeal. Perhaps he woke up late and was rushing to the airport for his flight.
Probably told the uber to drive as fast as possible only for the uber to crash the car.

Bro you speak sense and with lot of experience in the hustle. For heaven sake, these bolt riders are so annoying, especially the ladies. Do they think Uber/bolt drivers are all illiterate or stupid? I just pray I don’t loose my temper on any one day I honestly will be glad to give one a dirt stupid slap in the face.

I think you put her in her place with your action and I’m sure she will compose herself with the next driver she gets.

Boss what can one do... We have to keep learning

Thanks Boss. I bought the car early September 2019. Used for 1 year in Naija. He bought it as Tokunbo August 2018. He uses Mobil engine oil(Can't remember the name but definitely not 5w30).

Since we don't know what the previous owner was using. You might try to use 5w30 grade ... The Mobil 1 I sell will be too expensive for this experiment... Radauto on nairaland sells 5w30 .. Buy the full synthetic from her ,I think it goes for like 12k naira or am not too sure.. So try it and see how the car does . Make sure the engine does not short oil. By checking the oil stick periodically..
If it does not short oil after few thousand miles of checking, than you might be ok .. But if you notice oil shortage than you have to go back to the " engine killer oil ' 20w50.. What it means is that the damage is already done on your engine.. You just have to ride it out until you get a new engine... once you get a new tokunbo engine than you can start using the correct oil..

The thing about Nigeria use cars , is most owners use wrong oil . And most dont follow manufacture advice .. So any signs of engine trouble or signs that the engine is smoking.. The owners sales it off before anybody notice any sign of engine trouble or abuse. So buyers you like sees a car like that. And the car is a Corolla ,you automatically think na Toyota, strong car etc .. You than buy it , mean while the seller has sold you his problem.. His problem now becomes your problem.. And the circle continues ..
But another thing you can do .. Since you do uber with it ,try and save enough money to buy a tokunbo.. Once you have enough money ,sell it and use the saved up money join to buy tokunbo...

In as much as i don't know how truthful your fella is, i'd like to narrate my ordeal with you.
We got a car for 1M, Tokunbo and ended up spending 200k for repairs, even though the car is working well and the performance & handling is top notch, i don't do more than 6 hours, 4 days a week because i am scared !
I was drained financially when the car troubles started, it turned me to a beggar.
So your friend might be going through a rough patch with the car and scrambling to barely feed.
No worry, your Christmas chicken no go run away, Tojahh talk say him want buy plenty for the house grin wey our Oga madam Pocochantas go help us grill with pepper

If I don't feel comfortable leaving you in my car, trust me, you will get down. I'll end the trip right there. You go do your worst, I'll respond in kind too. This issue came to the fore again because someone complained he left a rider in his car and his money was stolen. You may not have time to gather everything to safety just like tha on this job. But most of you are perfectionists until something goes terribly wrong.
You like argument so much. Is wrong telling ur riders to get down. Take it or leave it..
Imagine someone bashing ur car from behind and tells you sorry, because you need to go down and check if something it's damage, you will now ask your rider get down with you and check for damage behind ur car.
Sorry, I won't get down and if you end the trip, be sure to take me back where you pick me & I won't pay a dime but anything outside that, get ready to kill me cause we go fight kill oursef.
U can not come and be bringing ur house properties with you when you know that you are working, using the car for taxi, you should even carry ur laptop, your TV and your all ur savings into it vehicle.
It's work you came out for, no be travel you the travel...

sorry but not to my detriment. Safety above any other considerations. It's a waste of time trying to correct me on this one. I kicked a rider out of my car for refusing to go down. I'll do it over and over again whenever I feel the odds are against me. No apologies.
And I will give you the beating of your life, if I can beat you, if you fail to return me at the pickup location with no charges.
And if you take me back it's ursef u are doing, by the time u do it for 1week. We will know who is lossin, me or you?...

This one is more than calling a rider, that pattern will even provoke d debtor, it more like a conference meeting that needs deliberation... Maybe 2 or 4 delegates from here will have to set up a meeting and d debtor too will come with his representative, then matters can b soughted out and way forward.

Well u have nothing to worry about, if you have answer to some questions. I've been dia and I am still dia, I have rider that always pile her debt to 120/150k and she does pay, just as I've had d one that pile up to 70 and he did pay... Chemistry, body language and the service u r selling matters at dis point, I render service that is almost impossible to get else where (with humility I say dat), so I'm not scared of d eventual.

So boss, what do u have on dis person of interest? House address? Office? Hangout spot? Did u transfer the 20k to him? Ur first trip with him, can u trace it? Can u tell is financial strength? Do you still communicate wit him? Did he openly tell you to forget the money? Any close person I've observed around him?

Imbtw: who's is Suleiman here? The guy is a very wicked sharp person... You picked a rider today from opebi to eko hotel area, trip of 1:30 mins with a distance of 46km ended at 10,000 naira plus toll gate grin I guess u use an invisible toll gate on 3MB grin fear ur creator small oga or u saw 3.2 surge today
