I really get turned off when reading a post or news article in which the author deliberately uses big words just to pass a simple point across. Honestly it doesn't make you appear intelligent to the reader, instead, it looks like you are trying so hard to sound smart. Even the Brits who invented English don't write with such verbiage, but our people think using silly big words intimidate and command the respect of their readers. Utter rubbish.
Exactly me too, in this country we speak too many grammers and ignore the reason why the grammar is being use in the first instance e.g our politicians

IELTS Cambridge thinks otherwise. Those big grammars when properly use will get you bigger score in vocabulary.

Can't believe a journalist wrote that. Too many grammatical and syntactical blunders. Two facts stand out from that epistle. One, the writer is taking panadol for another person's headache. Two, she has publicly threatened Tonto. She may not know the implications but it is immature, unnecessary and consequential in the long run.

The vocabulary in the article is excessive and unnecessary and makes the writing unpleasant to read.

It's not simple at all

Shockingly poor grammar from this 'journalist'. Uneccessarily verbose and disjointed prose.

Pathetic effort, really.

Good write up,the lady's public outburst and actions has constituted real public nuisance, the fact that Churchill hardly respond to her tantrum reveals the soundness of the Guy's moral value. Am sure the guy regretted the day he met such a woman in his life journey.

I get turned off by people who think they can read people's minds from behind their phones. It's outright stupidity.

How are you sure that is not how he writes? Why conclude when you don't have all the facts? Doesn't that sound stupid to you?

All these Nairaland journalists, sef. I will read all that only if I get paid afterwards. In fact I need payment upfront before indulging in the article past three paragraphs.
