Good day goop people, I need fellow xiaomites to come to my aid. My redmi note 5 is acting strange lately, I discovered 2days ago my battery is draining fast. The phone was idle and the battery dropped from 64-20% through the midnight. I thought it was just a minor issue, not untill I charged it this morning and the same repeated itself again. Anybody with possible solution should please come to my help.

I thought I was the only one having battery issues after the Miui 11 update.
My SOT reduced drastically.
This is why I don't do update regularly because of stories like this.

What phone? Several factors determines SOT. And those factors can hardly be constant at all times.

Also if you just updated, your phone need time to adjust to the changes a new ROM brings.

Share screenshot of your battery graph, battery graph with details(Network Signal bar, etc been graphically represented, apps usage and lastly Screen on time).

Download full ROM and reflash if there is no change, then your battery might be faulty

This is just SOT, what about the battery charts I asked you to post.

Something like the below SS.

I also don't advice power saver at this battery level.

We can't judge until we see battery charts, who knows if network and external temperature is responsible.

Also if his both Sims are on 4G.

Only airtel is on 4G the other sim is not even 4G enabled

1. Your network is partially responsible, it is not stable, the red and yellow lines tell, meaning even the green don't tell the full story.

2. Search for autostart and disable any app that is not supposed to auto start.

3. Put your other SIM on 2G.

4. If you just recently updated to MIUI 11 (You didn't state when) drain battery and charge your battery to full while switched off.

Like I said at this battery stage I don't advice battery saver.

Please how safe is it to upgrade? I heard a lot of battery issues after the upgrade. Advice needed. I'm not in haste though.
