Hi.. I got an update for MIUI.11.0.2 for a Canada region, but after I changed region to India so I could change my font, the update was gone.

Quick question, Is it ever gonna come back again as switched back to Canada region??
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Kudunku: 8:36am On Dec 13, 2019

Bro,amoled screen is way way better than LCD screen,I repeat, way way better than LCD. When I was using LCD I was wondering what all the fuss was about oled screens, then I used mi8 se with oled screen, while I saw the little difference to me then it wasn't enough to gain so much praise and hype till I went back to use LCD,damn the small difference turned to huge difference, I was no longer enjoying my movies, colours just weren't interesting to look at and that's why I'm buying redmi k20
the fact that you think all amoled displays are the same and all LCDs are also the same makes this a useless conversation to even get into. Enjoy, man.

ok since you know enough to term it a fact, give me an in-depth technical difference between them. The kind of technologies they each use (how do they work?), what makes the amoled on the k20 display much better and why do you say the k30 lcd display isn't bad?

I think I have some time for this conversation.

check YouTube bro
the only advantage the k30 display have over the k20 is it refresh rate
buh in terms of screen quality, punchy colors deeper blacks and saturation, k20 is way ahead

way ahead? How? I should check youtube? Lol.

I really thought you knew stuff about these screen technologies (you even used the word 'fact'), and would easily provide tech details.

That's disappointing, man.

please if I change my region to India and change fonts, will other things change or add up? And if I change back to Nigeria after the fonts have been applied, if I restart the phone, will the font go back to the initial?

Screen refresh rate isn't a part of screen quality? Pray tell, what do you mean by screen quality then?

That your beloved amoled on the k20 is worse at displaying whites (it usually has a slightly yellowish tint), has less accurate colors because it tries to compensate for its white by oversaturating colors (this is what you people call vibrant/punchy), struggles more under sunlight, offers a narrower viewing angle, can degrade (burn) with prolonged used with static images.

It used to have as an advantage, the higher refresh rates (but you already know the k30 lcd is better in this regard).

It's standout advantage is that it switches off leds for black completely and so, not only are the blacks really dark (thus better contrast, as easily noticed with movies), it can help you save power. Not sure how that makes it 'way better'.

Of course there are super amoleds which have tried successfully to over-come some of these limitations, just as there are super LCDs (up to 3 levels now). It's why I find it amusing that anyone would group all AMOLEDs as one and say it's way better than all LCDs (again grouped as one).

Xiaomi has released over 120 smartphone models and has existed over 10 years as a top smartphone manufacturer, what are you sceptical about?

State your budget and specifications you want in a smartphone and the good folks on this thread will guide you in making a pick.

awesome design {slim as possible}, atleast 4GB of ram, 64GB storage, very good camera
