This research is simply based on teachers with NCE vs teachers without NCE. Even if you have B.Sc you are still regarded as unqualified. That’s why you see Lagos there.

I'm not surprised that Lagos State is on the list. Their "Qualified Teachers " are terrible. They can't even express themselves well in English language let alone impact knowledge. The major reason is because they don't employ base on merit but by who you know.I know this because I'm working with them as a volunteer. I always feel sorry for the pupils. In fact

Those lecturers are a product of a bad system, it's not there fault, you can only give what you have..

Very frustrating. After teaching for close to an hour, you discover you've being speaking to the air.
There was a day I taught them, I used hausa language, I brought pictorial examples, I racked my brain, what was remaining was to hang my self. Could you imagine, at the end they were unable to grab a single point all that was in their thought and mind was marriage.

Seriously their problem is out of this world. If you write A, what you will see in their note book will be Z you will be wondering were they copied it from

As for Lagos State being there, it's saddening and I really hope all hands must be on deck to ensure transparency in all of our public schools.

Being "qualified" does not equate to "being educated, intelligent or sound"; it means, having/possessing the requisite certificate or training to teach.

Lagos State is a state where those who merit a job don't get except you know a commissioner, honourable. A state of slot.

you are right. I have been opportuned to meet with some teachers( both primary and secondary). many of them don't even understand the in-depth(practical understanding) of the subject, they are just impacting the peripheral that they know and the one in the textbooks

Sincerely yours, kaduna State is having best brain in teaching sector. There are qualified teachers everywhere with good pay, even at primary school.

On the other hand, Niger State education is a nightmare. I came across a long serving teacher in Niger State who could not fill a bank teller. Recently, Niger State SUBEB recruited semi-illiterates and half baked teachers (employment based on whom you know) to teach in their public schools, while kaduna State recruited qualified competent teachers from all over the country.

As a teacher in private school in Lagos, I agree with the statistic at disposal. I don't know about public schools but most private schools don't engage the service of qualified teachers in Lagos

I served in jigawa state College of education. My God!! 95% of their staff are corpers who are not even qualified. The highest qualification among their active staff are HND. you will see OND holder as a dean of faculty. Tell me my people.. Where are we growing to. Education in Nigeria specifically in northern Nigeria is suffering a set back that is if they were at the front before.

I see some peeps don't believe Lagos state has one of the best public schools in the country, you will be surprised that some of their teacher go for training all the time.
