Built by Lagos state government.

What are the docile governors of the SE doing?

The PDP slaves had to wait for Fashola and Buhari to complete their bridge. The same people who names GEJ Azikiwe. grin

Don't mind them.

At least, they don't travel thousands of Miles to serve other people.

You breed plenty so that you can be enough to go round, serving everyone.

Both Abraham Adesanya and Isawo/Owutu roads are not by the edge of water. Is the actual bridge from Badore to Baiyeku/ Ofin in Ikorodu? Or it's partly a land bridge? I don't understand. undecided

Another avenue to loot via inflated costs, and giving of contracts to their cronies.

Lagos state government is looking for a company that will build and operate the bridge for a period of time, it is called government-private partnership. It is not a case of contract awarding

But it is stated in the report that they are looking for a company that will build the bridge ( source for the fund and engage a construction company to do the job) then, the same company will operate the facility for some years through tolling to get their money back and so far about 37 companies have shown interest.

The reality is that the Lagos state government is not going to pay a dime for the project

Lagos state is a coastal state, but water transportation is very meager and underdeveloped, even investors are not taking advantage of the huge money-making opportunities around water transportation, we just expect the government to do everything, we want the government to build everything with little or no resources and when they take out loans to execute these projects, we cry, criticize and complain.

The Lagos Cable Car people need $280 million, but they are $50 million short, so, who is going to step up with $50 million to get the project off the ground? I think the LASG should step up with the balance for a sizable stake in the operation.

This is a daily multi billion Naira operation with enough capacity to move hundreds of thousands of passengers/day.

Ultimately, it is not by force to move to Lagos, the government can not keep up with over 20 million people with less than $3 billion, the pressure on infrastructure and social services is unsustainable.

Lagos state must decongest.

Usually, when a bridge is being built, consideration is not only given to the section that crosses over the water. Rather, it usually also includes the access road to the bridge. For example, it's only a small portion of what we call Eko Bridge that crosses over water. The longer stretch of the bridge actually goes over land. Another good example is the Second Niger Bridge. The Second Niger Bridge project includes the construction of a 1.6 km long bridge and a 10.3 km highway.

u spoke my mind bro

That's fine...

If PRIVATE investors are paying for it...
It's only fair they should be able to recoup their investment via tolling.

The good things is it's a USAGE tax...
Those of you who do not want to pay tolls need not use the bridge.

Under Nigeria's bizarre "federal" system, the federal government controls all inland waterways through National Inland Waterways Authority (pursuant to the NIWA Axt). Accordingly, the states do not have control over the waterways that run through their territories and have to negotiate (or in the case of Lagos when the PDP was in power at the centre, litigate) for use of the waterways and to develop water routes (most of the routes in Lagos require some dredging). Most private investors will NOT invest in some an uncertain regulatory environment (albeit now that Lagos has reached some arrangement with the now APC-controlled FG, UberBoats and a few others have taken the plunge).
