The Definition of a Muslim Cleric (Alfa) in Nigeria varies according to many.

People would call you an Alfa in as much as you:

i.. Put on the Muslim type cap/robe sometimes or most times.

ii. Pray the Muslim pray sometimes or most of the times or attend the Friday prayer in Muslim robe.

iii. Can be free from major sins like fornication, intoxicants, interest, while appearing as a Muslim.

iv. can perform magic, mix things together, consult the jinns and make people's dream come true or check the unknown for them.

v. Can officiate Islamic functions and generate money to be shared.

vi. possess knowledge, wisdom and understanding of Islam (doesn't matter whether the knowledge is +ve or error-filled)

vii. can speak Arabic.

viii. Keep beards, his garments does not pass the ankles...

But in reality the authentic Alfa is one who is truly conscious of his Lord......

1. He follows the Qur'an and the Sunnah according to the pious predecessors. This he learns and teaches. Whatever the Prophet commands he follows and whatever the Prophet forbids he stays away from. The Prophet Muhammad is his role model.

2. He earns halal wealth. Thers is nothing wrong if He has a job or a vocation. He flees from all kinds of Haram i.e. fortunetelling, Charm Peddling, 419, Extortion, etc.

3. He is free from major sins. He is quick to admit his fault and repent whenever he falls.

May Allah (S.W.T) guide us all.

Can you speak Arabic, or you are just blabbing what you know nothing about? Arabic isn't English, and there is nothing like what you said in Arabic

He fought him (with words) on Nairaland.

God commanded Moses and he fought and killed them all.

Does "fought "mean the same in the above sentences? A layman with the meaning of fight as meaning direct action towards another may not grasp the meaning of the above.
