darkwan: That's the point. No one forces one to deal but when one signs treaties without looking at antecedents one would do way more than a slave when the situation demands such. |
its good to have doubts....but solong you start makin business with asia rather than with western nations, then the string will be cut....[/quote African leaders, the majority of them, aren’t schooled on important subjects such as history, especially pre and colonial history. Hence why I like Paul Kagame. Whenever the West sends its media to demonise him and Rwanda in preparation for a planned regime change, he reminds the moral consciences of th world of Rwanda and its 1994 Genocide and how the West enabled it/ looked the other way. The Western media normally backs off after such reminder. To say that France will let its influence, economic and otherwise, wane because of this “deal” is to be ignorant of history. Currently Francophone Africa is more militarised by the French than any time in their history. French boots and listening equipments are in Mali, Central Africa Republic, Niger, Cameroon to mention but a few. They aren’t here to listen to peasants chat about market prices. They are here for control and it’s high time African leaders— or at least Africans themselves— understood this. |

God bless you. Too many people do not study the history and policy antecedents of nations they transact with. You can see it obviously from the comments made here on this thread how shallow many know of the consequences and causative effects of these kind of policy dealings. Ive been studying Europe for 20 years now and have studied as far back as 1800 done till their present. If only Africans will let their best in each field represent them. 2 Likes |

Blue3k2:Stability of CFA due to pegging has helped reduce devaluation that stupid dictators could have caused to individual currencies over the years. Compare value of Naira in 1999 to CFA with today. Naira has lost much value. Naira lost value and we still have more poverty. Our flexibility has not helped us. Disastrous fiscal policies after another. Even our monetary reserve that we control fully, do we know how they draw the money and what they use it for? I hope these Francophone people know what they are doing. They risk serious inflation. 1 Like |

darkwan: Sorry Europe has kept its captors one way or the other since it stepped foot into Africa. That remains in play with this move. To be unfree from all form of slavery, do not join leagues. Its simple. All the Nordish countries recognised this opting for example, for joining the EEC/EEA and not the EU giving it access to EU benefits with minimal control it would have been subjected to if it joins fully. |

Blue3k2: There are many books and papers that have explored the influence of foreign aid in Africa. The conclusion, from qualitative and quantitative methodologies, is that it has a terrible, counterproductive influence in Africa. No African country has relied on foreign aid and grown their GDP. Has never happened. Would never happen. Kagame for instance have asked the West to stop their foreign aid, when threatened by journalists. Of course they haven’t. Foreign aid is an influence for Western nations. If they don’t “give” those aid, China would; Russia would; they don’t want such geopolitical alliances so they continue. In the long run, it benefits them more than Africans. |

healthserve:QED. This is a blank check for France afrique. The global anti-French sentiment is high right now and macron would do anything to stop it. Instead of them to take advantage and push for full independence just like azikiwe did in 1960, these clowns are still laughing with France. A ruthless unrelenting colonialist. Once anti French sentiment cools down, France would tighten back the noose and deal with the rebel leaders. |

CSTR2: The Francophones don't know their history. Hence thibkg the while French love is founded on pure motives. Allow me take us back in time that predates the modern era exactly about 220 years back. The French outnumbered in the Franco-prussian war with Germany that had the numbers strategies to increase its army, from there came the mad desire that stiired its interest in Africa. This was the beginning of the law that forced all children of blacks born in France to become French mandatory and also its colonialist concept with the aim that when the next war comes it would have a crazy number of foot soldiers to fight its war. This was the very beginning of French interest in Africa and not for any altruistic reasons. It's in history, Africans need to read to be liberated. Read they won't read they will come online fighting apc pdpd Igbo hausa fights relegating the counsels of intelligent persons. This occurs across the length and breadth of Africa. This strategy was also put into place by France to fight Germany... Story for another day. It wasn't just the allies. It was this strategy the French out in place forming an extremely large amount of African and Chinese foot soldiers fighting on the rear of battle lines when NAZI Germany lost numbers due to battle fatigue. This was the brilliance that helped ended the war. |
