Good day all. I got a refurbished Lg G6 a few days back (impressive phone I must add) and have been having issues updating the firmware (which is currently running android 7.0 nougat).

Anytime I try searching for update, it keeps telling me 'Your Phone Is Not Registered Yet' and while I have tried looking for solutions on other forums like xda, androidauthority and co, responses there weren't really helpful. As far as I understood, I would need to register the device on Lg's website and since my phone's model is H87310e, I suspect it's a Canadian variant. However, I've not been able to make headway with the registration of the device talk more of updating the firmware.

Suggestions on how to bypass or alternative options are welcome please. Thanks as you contribute.

Found a way around it already. Upgraded the firmware and running android 9 pie now.

Hello read through this now and seem interested on how you were able to rectify this.

Loaded the software manually. I went on lg's website, downloaded the firmware update And loaded it using a laptop.
