Let me enlighten your ignorance a little, the bible is generally divided into two, the old testament and the new testament.
The old testaments written over a long period of time by various prominent people in israel such as prophets and kings was properly documented and kept jealously by the nation Israel, the old testament was complete and used by the teachers to teach and instruct in Jewish places of worship so that you cant add or remove from it even at the time of Jesus the old testament was already complete and regarded as the scriptures. In those days there were tons of other books written even after the old testament scripture was completed but none of them were recognised as scripture by the Jewish people, these books were written by groups or sects that were seeking for political relevance but these books were never part of the Jewish scripture.

The new testament on the other hand were written by leaders of the church who were with Jesus when he was on earth except paul, but luckily paul's epistles were recognised collectively by the church and by peter himself as scriptures, Luke was was present during Jesus ministry and regarded as scripture, he was a dsiciple of Jesus. The Christian community only recognise these booke written by the apostles including luke as scriptures right from its inception. later, some other books were written that were never of the apostles neither recognized by the church as scriptures. During the cannonisation ( assembly the old and new testament together to form the bible), that some with the christian community insisted on adding these other books to the already 66 books of the bible but these other books that were not part of the 66 books of the bible were rejected but some other churches which broke out from christianity embraced these books among which were the ethopian churches even the roman catholic accepted and used these apocryphals. go and enlighten yourself on the meaning of apocryphal.

Well, atheisim does not necessarily equal development, especially as the Industrial Revolution happened in many deeply religious nations, that became atheist or agnostic in the last 60 years as the gifts of the industrial revolution (which started in the mid 17th century) kicked in, and even the US has a very large religious proportion. China is developed because they have limited resources, and it is either they industrialize, or else they starve. India is a very religious nation (with a poor populaiton)_ but they are progressing too. As is SOuth Korea (one third christian, with a large buddhist and traditional relgion followership too). Limited resources . Nigeria is not developed because we have too many resources, and we seem to think that selling these resources is the way to go...also extraction of these resources does not rely on a stable power supply or road supply. Had Nigeria's revenue been dependent on things that need a stable power supply , we would have been developed in minutes.

But here is something that bothers me. Many of these atheists rightly protest against religious interference in public life. That is correct...as a secular republic, Nigeria has no business allowing religion into government (Jigawa has no business building mosques, the Sharia code should have never come into our laws, Wike has no business declaring his state a Christian state, and all this sponsorship of pilgrimages really....should stop.). But the principles of a secular republic also means that government should not be involved in religion.

The Chimese government is interfering in religion, and by extension the human rights of Muslims and Christians. That should be shocking. And the sad thing is that people are rejoicing because their percieved enemies are suffering. That is not right. What a man beleives, or what a woman thinks is right beleif should not be tampered with because it is their right...to believe whatever they want to believe. If the government starts telling Christians and Muslims how they should believe today...what about Buddhists, agnostics, atheists ...they will be next.

Infact we have been here before. In the late 1930's, the Soviet government, which was atheistic., started telling scientists, in particular geneteicists what they should believe about their subject. Apparently Trofim Lsyenko was the only one who knew what was right about genetics, ald everyone else was wrong. As a result, people went to jail and died. Including a famous geneticst N. Vavilov...and moreover, the science of genetics suffered a huge setback...because it was ok to start telling people what to think.

To all those atheists, agnostics, Christians, etc rejoicing over this. Don't think the CHinese government would stop there. Don't allow your hate for people of different beleif systems to allow you to think the Chinese govt will stop at just muslims and christians. Tomorrow, they will be telling other beleif systems, and even atheists how they should think about x. And when that day comes, don't complain.
