I'm having issues with my Jaguar XF.... I drove it for some minutes... Tried to reverse it was stuck in drive for long... I off it , later tried to on it but its still stuck in drive... Transmission failure is written on the dash board ...Gear not in park.... Had a battery warning. later... Battery will be off in 3 minutes.. |

Kingsdave:Gear selector is stuck in park. Car won't start with selector stuck in park. Only remedy is to tow with the drive wheels off the ground to a mechanic workshop. It shouldn't be a difficult fix as this seems a purely mechanical issue. Best of luck. |

Kingsdave: Your description of your issues is all muddled up, I couldn't make much from it. If the car had been parked for several days and left unattended, rodents could have made breakfast, lunch and dinner with the wiring in the vehicle. Have you tried to switch the gear knob to park or neutral while the ignition is off. if you did was it that the computer still see the gear knob is in drive even though you have moved it to Park? If all fails, you can reset the car brain and see if the car would come back to life by removing the battery terminals while the key is out of ignition or if it's push button desist from depressing the brake. Remove negative 1st then remove positive next ensuring the + cable doesn't touch any metal body of the car. When putting back, fix positive 1st before negative. If the car is stubborn, rent an helicopter and drop it from 2000 feet to register your disdain to jaguar (find a technician to help look into the matter) 3 Likes |

Kingsdave: Like Nurey said you might have a rodent attack. But asides that I would suggest you take out the battery terminals and replace after 20Mins, the Jaguar XF has a fail safe that allows it go into neutral rather than park to enable tow away in the even of any issue. Though your complaint isnt clear I believe it's a 2009 upwards jaguar XF |

Kingsdave: You said its a new car, was it bought from coscharis? If yes, call them and notify them to take the car for repairs as its still under warranty. DO NOT give it to any other mechanic or technician or engineer to fix other than coscharis if it's under warranty. |

weyreypey:It's under warranty, that fix is supposed to be free or minimalistic. By the way anyone buying a brand new Jaguar XF sedan should be able to shell out more than 2m instantaneously for repairs. 2 Likes |
