And I am here trying to tell you that this project was initiated by SEPLAT since 2015 as ANOH gas project, AGPC (ANOH gas processing company) was only incorporated in late 2018 after shell , nnpc and NLNG came to see the huge benefits they could chunk out of the project in 2017, then AGPC was born out of Seplat.

Seplat has always had a gas department working on the actualisation of this project before even Buhari came into power. Do your own research and don't quote me without verifying facts. NLNG's entrance is strictly a business profit making venture that gave SEPLAT to maximize their previous expansion plans for processing of more natural liquefied gas.

Any worthwhile Igbo-driven project going on in the south-east....these Buhari minions will want to point to it as ‘proof’ that Buhari is ‘fair to Ndigbo and we’ve never had it so good as we’re having it now’!

Most if not all big-ticket projects planned or ongoing in the east were either started during past regimes of Yar A’dua/GEJ or they are projects initiated/owned/financed by Igbos themselves! Meanwhile, pan over to core-muslim-north (particularly states like Kaduna, Katsina, etc) and you notice most of their planned or ongoing big-ticket projects are federally owned/driven....avariciously driven primarily by the bigot-in-chief himself who wants to grab as much as he can to his core-northern region in as short a time as possible! The unfinished ones he inherited from past regimes, he has rushed to complete them as if anything is chasing him....and neglecting other regions (esp’ the 5 percenters) in the process!

Nobody should just mention Buhari on this thread! Whatever is happening in the south-east is inspite of him, so no one should try and sell us a dummy that Buhari is fair and balanced towards ALL regions/states/peoples because he is not!

olodo, you think countries just wake up one morning shut down all oil and gas plants and decide to move to solar? lmao.
Before oil amd gas phase out it would take nothing less than 20-25yrs or more, Germany just approved all cars electric by 2030, that's 10yrs from now before these initiatives gets to Africa it would take another 30-50yrs or more because obviously Africa is decades if not century behind the world. Before then this project would have yielded all profits, initial investments, be of good to the community and state and help curb the high rate of unemployment.

BTW. Dangote building Refinery in Lagos is a welcome development but this one in South East is giving you sleepless nights....

Nice one.

But production of electricity shouldn’t be the problem here.

Transmission and distribution is the problem.
Efficient distribution has always been the problem they refuse to address.

If that could be solved, we will now have a clear picture of how many MW it will take to light up all of Nigeria with steady power.

you are a bloody fool..
Once there is mass production of electric cars, oil and gas will die.. Africa too will buy electric cars from them cause who are we going to sell our oil to?
And I don't care about that dangote refinery.. he is making his own money..
What I am saying is different..I only corrected that guy that said Jill and gas is the future.

Nigeria's national grid is 4GW and we don't have constant power supply so how will 2.4GW power the whole of Africa infact Nigeria needs 20GW which is 20 000MW

Your wrong, We're generating 4000MW for now, Nigeria needs about 180, 000 megawatts for there to be adequate power supply. “South Africa, with 67 million people, generates 48,000 megawatts and they are now even working to increase the generation to 79,000MW

slowpoke only Germany, a few non-oil producing countries so far have approved strictly electric cars by 2030 which is obviously unlikely, it would definitely be extended. Come 2050 oil would still sell, not only cars use fuel Zombie....or have your village people invented electric planes, electric ships, etc??

Oil and gas is still selling come 2050, these business men like Dangote and co with good advisers and researchers know this while you're here on NL talking like an Olodo.

Shifting to complete electric and solar can't happen over night before then everyone would have made back their profits and inital investments while resolving the immediate unemployment.

I'm very sure you shouting solar still use Generator in your house (If you live in Nigeria) why not solar? lol

Africa that buys fairly used dead old cars wants to buy Electric cars ,. You can't count up to 5 African countries that have fully overcomed power issues.

Only Nigeria is enough market for Dangote Refinery because in the next 20yrs Nigeria would still have power issues.

A business that would last for 15-20yrs or more with huge profits can be considered future. Cheers

My brother, your current Minister of Works and former Gov. Of Rivers State who is an Ikwerre Man claims not to be Igbo o. So some of them out there are shamelessly denying their ancestry.

https://www.nairaland.com/2086009/ndigbo-not-deceived-rotimi-amaechi

jimyjames:

Yes I know imo and abia are still part of Niger Delta, but obasanjos plan of making them accept they are Niger deltas didn't work

Yes ikwere speak a different igbiod dialect just like the ika enuani izii-ikwo-ezza-mgbo and ogba, all these tribes speak igbiod cluster languages and they are found in ebonyi , delta rivers and Edo

Most of them especially the ikwerres started denying their Igbo roots during the civil war, but the ekpeye and Etche didn't deny it , they don't really deny it, some of these things we read online are just propaganda by the enemies of Igbo's , I have never met an Etche person who says am not igbo

Guy leave the Yoruba people alone nah? Why are you too eager to exchange swords with them? They haven't done us anything other Nigerian groups haven't done worse of.

Let it lie. They are a formidable opponents too, you dissipate energy fighting them, energy that are better channelled at better causes.

Look, we know all wat u are saying about the Ikwere and understand it very well.

We just want to play diplomatic in dealing with dem.

We dont want to facilitate any conflict as we have bigger problems in Nigeria and an open door that allows for dialogue is better than a closed door.

Believe it or not, groups will feed off any perceived division and weakness of ours to create more conflicts.

The minute they know ur enemy, they make them their friend.

Why is it that you think he is helping Igbos please I asked, are Igbos not Nigerians why when an administration that was elected to oversee the affairs of the country does what required of the them it became a favor no my dear he is not in anyway helping Igbos he is helping the country.

Please stop giving out false pictures, the said project is still on Earth work, mechanical works are yet to start. Assa is my community, ANOH should do the needful...give room for Assa Engineers to be part of this project not by selecting just few, we the youths are doing our best to remain peaceful but with they way Seplat, Shell and ANOH are treating Assa community and youths, I pray it should not get ugly. We can't fold our arms and watch non-indigenes take over 80% of jobs.

If your ancestors were Bini, how come you speak Igbo? It is either your ancestors where Igbos who lived in Bini or your ancestors were welcomed in an already Igbo speaking area. These are the only two possibilities.
