Then they aren't appalled.

They only pretend.
When we have a responsible government they will return the money. They should keep it for now.

Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Delta are the top three States with the most unemployed youths in Nigeria because their leaders have been useless, greedy and stingy, but their people would never hold them responsible for anything, they'd rather be insulting Buhari and Fulani Muslims everyday from morning to night.

I think you got over excited without understanding what I wrote.

Probe or interrogation is a initiative to question legality and motive. Law enforcement come after you.

Bank report is a mandate. There does not need to be a motive...it is done for everyone who meets the limit.

Totally different.

This General is being probed.

It takes a lot to get me excited. Nothing you wrote is exciting.

I stand by my original response and you are free to continue to disagree.

Have a nice day.

I see you are acting like an instrument of imperialism.

Why are our artefacts in their possession?

Because we would misuse them right?

The money will be re-looted simple. What happened to the recovered Abacha loot under OBJ and Buhari. They claimed they spent it on phanthom projects.
The UK should keep it until we have a responsible government.

What do you mean what happened?

Some of you obviously hate yourselves.

Ask yourself how much money was returned and how a country of 200 million people would feel its impact.

Stop being a slave to foreigners.

What is ours is ours.

Nigerians leaders are not smiling. UK does not want to return it to fantastically corrupt leaders to divert it to UAE and tax havens in the Caribbean.

They know the crooks that run the country inside and out.

Why did ''honest'' David Cameron not insist Britain returns the 100s of billions of pounds it looted from Nigeria during its 70 year colonial rule, or you don't know that money is still circulating in Britain?

Looted by Abacha?

Abacha alone could never have looted over 5 billion dollars.

How much was our income over the 5 years he ruled?

Im not saying what you wrote is wrong. Your response is accurate but it has zero reference to what I wrote, which is on target with the case reported.

Not only is your accurate statement unrelated, but you even said my statement is false.

Consider that these people have had the money in there for years. So going by your rule their bank would definitely have been reporting the balance to authorities all that time.

Why are they just coming after them? Something new triggered the probe and initiated cause for legality.

You might be a banker....but Im an analyst!

It's time we stop blaming all these people for being corrupt. In my opinion, it's not their fault. If Nigeria has majority of her leaders deep into corruption, what confidence do you and I have that we won't also be corrupt if we were in their shoes. It's our system that allows it but all we do is grumble and rant online. After that, nothing happens. When the citizenry wakes up enough to call of execution as capital punishment for corrupt public officials, then maybe our system will be better. But for now, corruption in Nigeria is our fault. We've been on this a long while yet, we haven't call for any change.

I was a banker three or four careers previously. I’m also an Analyst but this has nothing to do with analysis.

Do you have a background in USA banking?

The value of the deposit in her account doesn’t match her income.

Bank staff are trained to watch for things like this and report it.

I’ve had my accounts frozen on numerous occasion because of things like this.

She doesn’t have to commit a crime to trigger an audit.

You could try to learn a thing or two for future discussions.

Most times you talk senselessly just to support the useless Major General. You guys have graduated from abusing and insulting the Igbos to facing us here in the Niger Delta. When the time comes in 2023, you'll start crying for Southern unity for Tinubu to be president. We dey here dey wait

No matter how good you are from the beginning of your career the moment you get a position of handling public fund in the Nigeria government, a greed will overshadow all the senses within you. Except for the few extraordinary people, like Adesina of AFDB.

FEMI ADESINA is a full blooded technocrat. I like the guy because he is focused, eloquent, most of all, bilingual. wink

Absolutely.

Best Buy depositing $100K per day, no biggie, it's expected of a company of that size.

Jose Corner Liquor Store depositing $50K all of a sudden, red flag.

It's all about threshold.

Do you know how many people in US have bank balance over $10,000.

Ive had a bank balance over 50k with an investment in a ROTH account around similar figure and at end of year they sent me capital gains distribution statement. Never had an audit, never had a probe.

No be everybody for nairaland be mumu now. Eehn?? grin

Uncountable people have balances over $10K, $100K in the USA, what's the point that you're trying to make?

Bank balance is subject to audit not investment accounts (stop moving the goalposts). We're not talking about your $50K, we're talking about a Woman with $16M in her account (you love moving goalposts).

I will never assume that you're a mumu and I'm not out t impress you. You stated obvious false information and I corrected you. You have an issue with that and I can't help you with that except to continue to correct you.

By the way, should we compare US bank balances, 401K, Roth, IRA and pension statements offline? Let me know when you're ready cool

There is something missing in the story.

If you like put 5billion dollars in your account US will never interrogate where you got money from. Never ever ever!

You have to do something illegal with the account first, which will then give cause to probe.

The wife must have done something illegal from that account first which set a trigger. ...and all they are doing is following the odour to see who rubbed shit for body.
And what do you know

Why haven't they returned artefacts that aren't theirs?

I bring this up because the trend is to keep what isn't theirs whilst claiming various reasons for not doing so.

The summary is that they are equally corrupt.
