If father Abraham who is our father of faith paid tithe.. Did Jesus our Lord and Saviour pay or receive tithe? Was it on record that our Lord Jesus or any of is 12 disciples pay or receive tithe?

Abraham paid tithe of stuff he recovered from terrorists that attacked his people. Abraham was under Grace before the Law was given to Israel. And we're under Grace, now being guided by the Holy Spirit, that is, for those who RECEIVE Jesus to DWELL, or RESIDE in them, as LORD, not as errand boy, that service their whims, which may in fact be another Jesus.

I read in my own Bible and I am convinced that I should pay tithe, so I pay it without any regret.

I’m not against giving to church in whatever form be it tithe. But one thing you have to understand is that the early Christians were not paying tithe. Go and study Catholic encyclopedia about origin of tithe in the church. A couple of centuries after Christianity started. The Catholic Church introduced tithe into the church due to expansion of the church and the need for steady flow of money to finance the church. Look for Catholic encyclopedia for more knowledge.

Can you imagine Peter asking the Jews that converted to Christianity to bring tithe to him when actually the institution of Levite and Priest was still in existence and the scripture was clear that tithe was meant for Levites of which Peter was not one. If he did, the new Christians that were formerly Jews themselves would have called Peter a fraud. The early Christians were not tithe payers. But were they giving to the church? Yes but not as tithe.

I said reading through the Bible, I am convinced to pay tithe, I see the reason to pay willingly.
Anyway, I get your point can we now deduce the same reason for financing the expanding church applies for celibacy in Catholic church to cope with financing priests' and their families?

Apart of this.. Was it on record that Abraham paid tithes from is businesses or animal and farm produces?.

And u haven't answer my question.. Did Jesus or is disciples pay or receives tithes?...

It was on record that Jesus pay tax... If tithing is so much important that it would take one to hell fire, I believe Our Lord Jesus or any of the apostle would have preach it. Let me guided. Tithing is not by force. U don't have to come online here and be trying to confuse people to pay or not pay tithes. If u pay tithe it is ur business. If u don't pay it also ur business. But me I won't accept it when they say non titheter will go to hell fire. Or things would be bad for u if u don't pay tithes...

What I expect the church to focus on is given to the poor. Which is one of the important msg Jesus came to teach us.

Mind u I pay tithes not because of one pastor or the fear of what all those pastor are saying. I pay it bcuz I want the work of God to continue grow.

Jesus is a Tithe to us.. From where is the tithes Jesus taking from and given to who?

So, your point is the Catholic church borrowed tithe payment to cope with the financing a growing church. I think the same still goes with the doctrine of celibacy so that financing priests and their families will be minimal. In any way, leaving the issue of name alone, just keep financing the Kingdom of God is what matters. I am believing God to increase my own to 20% self not minding what name whether tenth, tithe , twentieth, or whatever.

Pastor Abel Damina of Power City Church, Uyo doesn't preach nor collect tithes and he's an Apostle of Grace of God in the revelation of the finished works of Christ.
