That is wat we mean by Iberiberism.

He wasted Orlu mandate on Owerri, wen he got power from Onye-Owerri and will hand power to Onye-Owerri.

That was Orlu chance to start looking like the second City in Imo State, and even attract investment.

Rather, he focused on Owerri.
I totally agree with you. As an Orlu man, I expected him to do more for his zone. Even the road that led to Ideato his LG is nothing to write home about.

Will Ihedioha do something for Ndi Orlu? That's my concern

As your Green Area in Imo state exists only in Owerri, do you say Imo state, while the once developing towns in Orlu and Okigwe zones are rotting away due to acts of poorly educated governors who foolishly believe that state was created to first develop the state capital?

Abuja gives IMSG monthly allocations to develop the cities and rural areas of the state, the govs do 'see me' development in Owerri, stash away the remaining allocations to their private businesses.
You clap by showing off Owerri.

Rotten Aba is part of what has landed Orji Uzo Kalu in prison.

I will bet my last cent, if Owerri is hugely dilapidated and rotten, you would deny being an indigene of Imo State.

You wrote: "If you see Owerri, capital of Imo State, you have seen the entire state."

Not even a most FOOLISH CLOWN would write what you wrote above.

How does seeing Owerri amount to seeing entire Imo state?

I have never heard that any human being who visited Imo state was taken to your father's compound in Orlu for photo ops.

Owerri water supply is getting ready by gov Ihedioha.

The multi billion Naira water project was built by Mbakwe from Obowo in Okigwe zone, not from Owerri.

Owerri born governor, Evans Enwerem, ought to have started work on finishing touches of Okigwe water project, as well as begin similar water supply project in Orlu zone
.But he NEVER did.

Udenwa completed work on Okigwe water project, but yet to be put on service.

Owerri would never have developed without that water supply system built by Mbakwe, despite state capital.

All Owerri people think is state capital must be developed first by governors, you think every body entering Imo state comes through Owerri. Weird.

If you see ABUJA, you have seen entire Nigeria? Abi?

Mind you, Owerri shall crumble within eight years if any president of Nigeria has your type of mindset and uses most of Nigeria's income to build Abuja to rival the best capital cities in the world, before paying needed attention to other Nigerian cities. You thank your Rochas Okorocha for that mindset, in 8 years, Okorocha arrested development in rest of Imo state outside Owerri area, as he said he was building Owerri state capital.

You people must live to regret how these your primitive mindsets about Owerri state capital made rest of Imo state outside Owerri to remain donkey years of modernity behind Owerri.

When Imo state was created in 1976, there were hardly any differences in the levels of urbanization between Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe.

This is the silly problem that tends to afflict most Nigerians. The mere beautification of Owerri as the capital of Imo State has turned into citing of all projects and industries for the state in Owerri. One of the lucrative projects in the his history of Imo State is seriously ongoing in Orlu zone. I have strained my eyes to locate the water system project in Owerri. Probably my section of Owerri is left out on the water scheme. There is a reason countries have capital cities which house the embassies of foreign countries. First impression matters is human psychology. Any visitor who sees Abuja and had no business to visit your village in Orlu must go home with the impression Abuja left with him/her on the visit to Nigeria. I bet not one noble investor who visited Abuja wanted to see your village in Orlu. It will be hard for you not to construe my position as a step against the development of Orlu. I want all cities in Imo State to be developed however the resources dictate that critical path method should be adopted.

I am presently in the East. My journey for this yuletide season started from spending a day at AWKA in a hotel at Unizik axis to having a nice time with my kid brother who lives at Enugu then to my Villa in Orlu.

I visited Owerri and stayed for three days. I was amazed at the development I saw at Owerri and honestly I nearly lost my way. I must say Rochas did a good job.

Coming to my Villa at Okporo Orlu, I must commend Rochas again for the market he constructed and the tarred road that passed through my home.

However, I am not happy seeing abandoned projects especially in Orlu. From hospitals to schools and the stadium. All abandoned!! I dunno how Ihedioha plans to continue what Rochas abandoned.

Something needs to be done about the abandoned projects littered everywhere.

Udo

How are you? I believed it when you said "I was amazed at the development I saw at Owerri and honestly". How many of the developments were hospitals, schools and stadia and were built by Okorocha? It is a little bit unsettling to read about abandoned hospitals to schools and the stadium in Orlu as if Okorocha filled Owerri with modern schools, hospitals and stadia.

I understand kikake's feeling but the issue is that orlu zone has had more governorship reign in this 4th republic than any zone but for whatever reason didnt embark on meaningful development of orlu zone let alone the whole state..I laugh when people say okorocha developed owerri...with all those substandard and makeshift constructions to hoodwinked people that he was a credible igbo candidate for president?those failed roads?those 27 so called hospitals structures that were meant for siphoning of funds?how come the road he construction to his village failed under 1 yr?what about the almost 37bn bailout funds just before his administration ended..where is evidence of money judiciously used?

And Orlu deserving some attention by the state gov as the second city.

That opportunity was lost with Rochas focus on Owerri

Orlu needs Urban regeneration.

I think it is the Onitsha of Imo State.

Bros, Kikake's feeling or lack thereof is totally misplaced. It is mightily laughable to read from people that Okorocha developed Owerri. Even more than half of the tangible businesses in Owerri are owned by the peeps from Orlu zone. I have friends from Orlu zone who built mansions in Owerri instead of Orlu. The only reason being Owerri is the capital of Imo State and rightly so. The dudes from Orlu zone who led Imo State are men of questionable characters baring none.

Well, u and I know the best bet Orlu would have got was with Rochas, and he focused on Owerri, which is not a bad thing to do.

But Imo State deserves more than one City, if possible at least three Urban areas.

This is wat i am trying to say.

I did not say his focus on Owerri is wrong, that is good.

I just noted, that bring Orlu urban regeneration into focus was more likely with Rochas as a man from Orlu.

This was Berem sentiment as well. I believe she wrote it up there.

Rochas did not even fix ordinary erosion in Orlu.

I know, this is becos Owerri is central to all in Imo State.

However, does it mean, we should not develop a second or third urban area to be carried alongside Owerri?

In Anambra they have Onitsha and Nnewi, alongside Awka.

In Abia, they have Aba and Arochukwu, alongside Umuahia
