Over population is one of the biggest problems in this country that most are not even talking about. The rate of exponential population explosion is thr biggest reason why most are in poverty. The economy is growing at 2 percent while population is growing at 6 to 7 percent. That's a receipe for disaster. Religious considerations, societal norms, laziness, too much emphasis on enjoyment and sex are some of the reasons for the explosion. Until we can control the rate of population growth or increase economic growth to 8 to 9 percent(almost impossible) poverty rate will keep climbing. |

kolafolabi:Religion ( especially Islam )culture and tribal differences will never allow Nigeria to control her population growth, in a country where women will not allowed vaccination and new born will not be vaccinated because a set of religious bigot and tribalistic individuals in government and Emirates in the north sees it as a method by the south to control their growth, ordinary family planning they will not accept ,is like there is no hope for this nation |

4.low savings

6.fall in standard of living. Just to mention a few. |

the issue is what is the chance of dos 26000 innocent children born just one day in a country that is straggling with inadequate in fractures ie schools, roads, good hospitals, housing etc govt need to come out with birth control laws before an uprising. |

Emu4life:northerners started baby factory , northern familes gave birth to many children so they can rent those children to mallams for begging, mean while a baby in south east baby factory as you said goes to couple without children for millions of naira so you see a baby from baby factory in the east is worth more than 60 almajeri with rubber plates |
