A war with Iran will be over in minutes. The US won't even commit a lot of personell to it. First economically Iran is getting dry, second, there is civil unrest in going, third, more enemies in the region than friends, Iran can only fight with proxy forces. There oil is at stake if they fight with the likes of Turkey watching closely. What is the overall population again ? It will be over for Iran in minutes.
