But the open contempt for their fellow citizens is actually scary and says more about the NA's mentality than a hundred posts!

Deep Blue Project. The Deep Blue Project (DBP) is a maritime security project conceived by the FMOT aimed at combating piracy and other criminalities in the nation’s maritime domain. The Project comprises procurement of equipment and systems, and training for their operation and maintenance. The NN has been collaborating with the FMOT through NIMASA with whom an existing MOU is currently running. The main deliverables for the NN from the Project are 3x Leonardo Helicopter (LH109) Grand New, 2 x 55M Special Mission Vessels (SMVs) and 17 x 9.6m Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) as interceptor boats. Others are UAVs, C4I Center and training facilitation for the intervention team. The NN however, counts on the Committee’s support for FMoT to make provision for the sustenance of this critical equipment, to avoid past mistakes.

I don't think we build interceptors for now.

Nonetheless this photo shows at least 28 units of locally built boats.

This is why the Nigerian Air Force takes base security very seriously.

4 Aircrafts destroyed

At least 1 vehicle destroyed

Logistics buildings also destroyed.

Nigerian army says Proforce MRAP is da Bomb!!! cheesy cheesy

It is heartwarming to note that, one of the recently inducted locally produced Mine - Resistant Ambush - Protected (MRAP) Vehicles, the indigenous Proforce MRAP, which was employed during this encounter proved to be a reliable war fighting machine, as it provided the required mobility, protection, fire power and maneuverability for the fighting troops. The lethal war machine has thus been certified to be a highly successful effort at local defence equipment manufacture.

The airstrip is not part of the base, it's adjacent to the base near Manda civilian airport. Alshabaab was planning to gain access to the base through the airstrip which is not heavily fortified.

Anyway about the camp, It's a Kenya Navy base, inside the base, there is another compound that houses the US military personnel.

Your Base security needs improvement.

How did Shabaab gain entry to even destroy 4 aircrafts and logistics buildings?

once again, the airstrip is not in the base.

You see this pic here below, that perimeter wall is where the base is, where the smoke is coming from is the airstrip which is usually has very basic security no more than you would find in a civilian airport.

If you look at the pics you posted you will even see it,it's bush then barbed wire , then the airstrip with some floodlights... That's all the security there is... Just like you would see in civilian airstrip... This is not standard KDF security installation you would find in a base.

Now I get you. However we're talking about a dangerous local government area. The airstrip is used by the military, including civilians. One would think security would be better.

Kenya should buy Proforce MRAP, they are serving Nigeria well.

the airstrip is so unsecured that when a US plane is scheduled to land, their personell on the ground strategically place themselves around the runway so that there aren't any suprises from the bush.

Anyway, about your MRAP, there are far more battle tested MRAPs from around the world, why should Kenya buy yours over all the other options?

American base within Kenya base. Doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not Kenyan so.

The base in question.

About the MRAP I'm just putting it out there. The Nigerian army says it's a hell of a machine, that's why I'm saying.
