Happy new year people!

My Xiaomi experience hasn't really been friendly. I joined the MI family in high spirits and hopes, following testimonies from users but I'm already feeling bad.

I bought the MI A3 4GB/64GB variant on 2nd December, 2019. 18 days later (20th December, 2019), I woke up to see my device not displaying any longer. No crack, no scratch, no fall; nothing. My 5am alarm that wakes me up only vibrated, I tried restarting the phone, it started booting with "Android One" displaying and next was a blank screen. It never displayed again.

I took it to their care center same day. I have just been called from the Lagos Office of the Care Center this morning, that I'd need a change of screen. That I should pay 22K for that.

I feel very bad that:
1. I didn't mishandle the device. In fact, I pampered it like it was a newborn baby. Yet, it still developed such fault.

2. The warranty terms doesn't cover such, especially that it's not coming from my end.

3. That after keeping my device for 2 weeks and 3 days, I've just been called to be informed of the development. When I was expecting to get my device any moment from now.

Sincerely, I feel so bitter right now. I never anticipated or expected this kind of experience.

Collect your phone. Next time make enquiries.

Abi what do you want us to do now?

Taking it to the repair centre should have been the Last option.

So sorry about your experience. From what you stated, it booted but stopped at Android One and then went blank. I mean, if it displayed Android One on the screen, then I doubt the screen have any issues.

I feel this is a case of bootloop. Or what do you think @Gptec, Genius43, GrandMufti

Yes. Mostly likely bootloop

sorry about your experience... That's bad tho.. . I think u got a faulty one.... Am on my 4th Xiaomi brand.. Though all are Redmi Series I have never had any issue.. The lol issue I had with one was the low volume that was rectify after update....

Mobile phones are sometimes like that.. Its just the piece u got that was bad

Also a faulty screen won't displayed android one... There to start up a case with the care center... A spoilt screen doesn't display at all... A good flashing would have solved your issue

It might not even be that it's a faulty one. His own case is a case of a bootloop. Care center should have been his last option.

I'm sure that, even if the screen (that they said it's faulty) is change, it'll remain same.

Lmao, he's screen ain't spoilt dude. Read his experience again. His device didn't boot past the android one logo. He then took it to care center and they told him his screen is bad. Now, ask yourself, do a bad screen show anything?

Nah!!!!
He should go and collect his phone so, we can help him here. His case is a case of bootloop. Calm down.

Yeah. And even if they change the screen, it'll remain like that. I tend to avoid care center till my phone is beyond redemption.

Please what's bootloop? That morning, when it was 5am, time for alarm, it only vibrated without any display. When I picked it up, I pressed the power button to see if it would restart or something. It just started and stopped displaying after showing Android One. I didn't know the phone was still on. I thought it has gone off, until a call entered and it started vibrating again.

The warranty process of what's pissing me more. I don't have the money they're telling me and I just feel something is not right about it.

Bootloop is what roadside repairers call "phone has been corrupted"

Collect your phone. Tell dem you don't have money to repair it now, also collect the guy's number so that it look like you want to contact him later.

Once you have your phone, run!
