I stayed 5yrs as well, those years moulded me into what i am today, everything passes away with time. I am a graduate, almost rounding up my m.sc, a pretty decent job and planning to get married this year.

Depression can also lead to your gaining admission

In a hospital
Or a mental home

Or the cemetery.

Must you read book?

Everything I gained in life no be certificate I use o. Ja ara e

@OP.....read the above... and the bolded a few times more. 5 years wasted... no end in sight... where are your mates who were not above average like you? Is there one path in getting up in life?...yours being Pharmacy? I wonder who is feeding you ? Life is not a bed of roses... one door is shut... find another instead of squatting in front and wailing for it to be opened.

Hello @all

In other not to bore u all with long talks I will be brief.

I left secondary sch in 2016 and ever since I've been trying my luck to get in pharmacy school.

I've written jamb four times, over the years I've applied

Delsu, Abu, Delsu, and Udus

I don't consider myself as a brilliant student but I am above average.

Although I am currently studying S.L.T but i am not and never satisfied with the course.. infact I don't even pay attention in class and I hardly attend class all I think of is pharmacy

it's affecting my life.. now I don't even Know how to proceed with my life.

Mods pls I need your help

There's a school of Pharmacy in Nigeria , all you have to do is visit them and find out how to enroll even as you are studying...

God Bless..

Have you considered any of these private schools?
I would have told you to write the SAT and apply to Uni of Buffalo in NY you may get a scholarship but i think the education gap may be an issue.

If you insist it must be pharmacy, then guarantee your admission by applying to a remote northern university. Certainly not ABU, Unijos, UNIABUJA or Nasarawa.

Possible states are
Jigawa
Kebbi
Borno
Zamfara
Yobe

If you don't mind, their state universities are even more sure.

Please, never give up.

My advice is just don't give up on your Pharmacy quest, I assure you it will worth all the pains once achieved but meanwhile, the SLT (though I don't know the meaning) you currently study should be a plus too, so don't mess it up.
Keep trying and strive to achieve the pharmacy on or before completing your current programme.
You will make it.
I remember reading Marine Science 'cos I couldn't secure admission into Pharmacy and now after 13years of graduation, I'm planning to go back and read Pharmacy.

i laugh wen i hear hw depressed some people are because of admission into d university, wen we have millions of graduates out there still in search of jobs even years after they've graduated.
well since u completed ur sec sch, have u acquired any meaningful skill that can help u forge ahead in dis hard time?
a nephew of mine who acquired a skill in welding, iron bending nd also a pro painter.. He learnt all these immediatly he was done wit sec sch after his first attempt in jamb which was in 2014. now he's 25 nd has a toyota camry nd living in a 2bedroom rented apartment since d beginging of 2018 all 2 himself.
infact he registered his company wit CAC last year march nd has a workshop to himself wit boys who are under him... nd each time i bring up d issue of going further into higher institution he'll smile nd tell me aunty no nid abeg..although nw he's planing to enroll for a partime program in NOUN.
so OP its never 2 late to turn ur depression into sumtin meaningful...

Am not saying its not possible but he is more likely to be successful if he is educated and has a university degree ( though not a sure-fire way considering Nigeria turbulent economy but it raise ones chances).

And let's be clear here, not everyone will be like your bro. That jobs are hard to find still doesn't negate the fact that education is the gateway to success and prosperity(though they might be few exceptions as in your bro case).

However, OP is a different individual with distinct abilities. @op never ever allow anyone to discourage you from achieving your academic dreams. Its difficult to wait but its more difficult and painful to regret later.

that said, I will only iterate what someone up there wrote "NEVER EVER GIVE UP"

Well said though.
but i'll still advice him on getting a skill whilst he awaits for a better admission.. 5 years would have yielded positive result if he had a skill attached..

I suggest you get yourself engaged with something while you still try out jamb. Learn one skill or the other while you wait for admission.
I personally wrote jamb Six consecutive times. And just graduated last year after running a five years program.
Of a truth i understand how you feel, However getting yourself engaged to one or two skill will go a long way in shaping you for the future.

Dear,

You're following a pattern that may not work for you, kindly leave egotistical life and start doing something meaningful that can take your life forward.

What do you really like doing? Get training in that, work out plans of obtaining skills that can fetch you money, then you can get the degree in Pharmacy with time, either here or overseas.

Don't compare yourself with anyone!

Because of Admission? And you haven't even graduated? And how lectures frustrate the hell out of you in Naija institution?

Young Boy, I think your issue is juvenile delinquency

Buhari go school?
Daddy Showkey go school?
Burna Boy go school?

Just look for something doing, learn work or probably go out and depression will move out of your life.

I was the most brilliant in secondary school in 2015 before I dropped out based on family issues

I watched the DULLEST STUDENTS in the class graduate from FUTA last year.

I struggled but I didn't gain admission, I gave up and entered the street.

THINGS I DID

I rented a house at 19 years old.

I was able to feed my younger ones at 19 as well.

I have properties that my school mates in the university would always acknowledge on visits.

I'm 21 now and I've rented another apartment.

Now, I'm planning business, I have saved a lot all through the years in the street.

Did I acquire any certificate

You don’t need to be depressed, I also spent 5 years at home before gaining admission to study engineering but today most of my friends that gained admission before me are still looking for job, in-fact I got employed during my NYSC.

My advice, try to learn something during your waiting period because this is the only regret I have now, I should have learnt a trade, business or vocational trade to equip myself, however, I thank God for what He has done for me so far.

Just try to engage yourself with IT skills or business skill, trust me you won’t regret it.

Thanks

Dude, better calm down....
Plenty people go school no work...

You may just be going about this the wrong way.

I suggest you try this tips
1. Choose a school in your catchment area...i.e your State....

2. In Jamb, select your strong subjects if you can....you can find out from your schools admission guide.

3. Relax when writing exams... You need to be calm, so practice

4. Visit your department in your school... Check your hod, hod secretary, the president of the department... E.t.c. Open your self to them... You never can tell...

5. After your exam, try to follow up the admission process....sometimes these lecturers have slots...

6. Pray for God's help, Paul plants, Apollo waters, but its God that brings d blessing.
is wrong to say no job but rather no available Job.
