Hello @all

In other not to bore u all with long talks I will be brief.

I left secondary sch in 2016 and ever since I've been trying my luck to get in pharmacy school.

I've written jamb four times, over the years I've applied

Delsu, Abu, Delsu, and Udus

I don't consider myself as a brilliant student but I am above average.

Although I am currently studying S.L.T but i am not and never satisfied with the course.. infact I don't even pay attention in class and I hardly attend class all I think of is pharmacy

it's affecting my life.. now I don't even Know how to proceed with my life.

Sooner or later, you would understand that human want can't be satisfied.

First, be happy and greatful for what you have, we really don't know the value of things until we loss it.
Then pursuing pharmacy, change your approach. I understand the frustration and all, but take time to analyze your past attempts, look at what you are doing write or wrong then build on it.

and like I started with, studying pharmacy won't satisfy your want, as human we are programmed to want more.
I wish you success

Dude, better calm down....
Plenty people go school no work...

You may just be going about this the wrong way.

I suggest you try this tips
1. Choose a school in your catchment area...i.e your State....

2. In Jamb, select your strong subjects if you can....you can find out from your schools admission guide.

3. Relax when writing exams... You need to be calm, so practice

4. Visit your department in your school... Check your hod, hod secretary, the president of the department... E.t.c. Open your self to them... You never can tell...

5. After your exam, try to follow up the admission process....sometimes these lecturers have slots...

6. Pray for God's help, Paul plants, Apollo waters, but its God that brings d blessing.

Better oil dey your head. You get sense bro. Nice advice

Stop killing yourself boy. A time will come when you will know school is not necessary. All you need is to be able to speak and write..

You can get depressed if you choose to. I won't sympathize with you on that at all because it took between year 2000 that I finished my secondary School and 2006 before I got admitted to study engineering and after graduating, I didn't serve again until 2013. I wasn't depressed through it all. I only took the period to get at least two other skills. Ordinary 5 yrs you are talking about depression. So what should happen to couldn't get a degree as a result of financial inability? Should they kill themselves?

Are U from Delta State? Are u so intelligent as you said. Then go for Pre-Degree in Delsu, While U write another Jamb and Put Uniport as First Choice. I notice there is no partiality in Uniport if you do well in ur Jamb and Post UTME.

i laugh wen i hear hw depressed some people are because of admission into d university, wen we have millions of graduates out there still in search of jobs even years after they've graduated.
well since u completed ur sec sch, have u acquired any meaningful skill that can help u forge ahead in dis hard time?
a nephew of mine who acquired a skill in welding, iron bending nd also a pro painter.. He learnt all these immediatly he was done wit sec sch after his first attempt in jamb which was in 2014. now he's 25 nd has a toyota camry nd living in a 2bedroom rented apartment since d beginging of 2018 all 2 himself.
infact he registered his company wit CAC last year march nd has a workshop to himself wit boys who are under him... nd each time i bring up d issue of going further into higher institution he'll smile nd tell me aunty no nid abeg..although nw he's planing to enroll for a partime program in NOUN.
so OP its never 2 late to turn ur depression into sumtin meaningful...
No mind them, grammar no be money

My candid advice for you is to look for an ICT training school and enrol for a course. I bet you you will do better far more than those who spent 4-5years studying courses that are no more relevant in today's reality. quote author=miracood post=85573172]Hello @all

I think the bolded is where lies the root of your problem. Your mindset, belief are impoverished. Can a pilot fly an aeroplane without believing he has the capacity to do so? How can you secure your dream course when you think so lowly of your mental intelligence? Resist feeling intimidated by brilliant students and strong believe you're their equal, who can even outclass them. Dear brother, you are brilliant and not average! Believe it, utter it, study intensively, and pray to God for assistance. See you at where you desire to be. Cheers!

It's never too late. You just continue to be focus. While in this trying time add like computer training to yourself and some other learning. And move ahead. Yours not only in this position.

Really what your are looking for is not being a graduate pharmacist, you are looking to establish a business to make money, every year Nigeria churns out more than (2500) corps members times batch ABC (I heard there is stream 1,2,3 lemme ignore dat one) (3) times 36 states + Abuja = 277,500 graduates, most are unemployed, under-employed or have committed suicide.

Be wise.

You better face your SLT squarely or else you will have yourself to blame later. You are studying SLT presently n lamenting no admission for six years as if you are still admission less. I spent seven years ahome before I gained admission and dropped out after final year/400L from University due to financial n family problems. Was in a church praying for 6 years to overcome village people and I am not shouting depressed, "which problem you con get"? Pharmacy might not be your calling, just have your degree, God might have other plans for your future.

Young man you listen to me... You'd better listen and focus in that course you are studying, your been a successful in life is not determined buy the course in which u study. After I finished my secondary school it took me 6years later to secure admission because i wanted to study medicine. I keep passing my jamb and post ume but was never given medicine but instead im given other science courses. After my 6th year of writing jamb i was given industrial chemistry and i chose to go study it. After graduation and nysc i didnt stay upto 3months before i got a job offer as a graduate trainee in an FMCG. After working for number a of years in Nigeria, i got a job outside Nigeria. Now im an expatriate and i earn my money in dollars. If i were still seeking for medicine maybe i would had failed and sent back to other science courses or died in a ghastly accident... Please don't ever be depressed. No course is useless in the university. All u need to do is work on yourself after

Re: 5 Years No Admission: Depression Is Taking Over Me by Brodagovernor(m): 12:10pm On Jan 07, 2020
Sometimes life seems to be unfair. But then, it's important to know that we can't all thread the same path. I wrote waec 3 times and jamb 4 times. My problem was never jamb but post utme. I got admission the year my mates were rounding up. Funny enough I got to know of people who scored less than me gained admission on merit. It about three things- hardwork, luck and strength(influence or people you know).
Unfortunately for me, I regretted one thing, I failed to learn a skill during this period. I know alot of people who learned one skill or the other that are doing fine today. Besides, we now live in word where all that matters is riches. No one cares about what you study in school anymore.
So if you haven't learnt a skill, please do. If you have, learn another. You will be glad you did while you pursue you dream in pharmacy.

From someone that ¨didn´t pay attention¨for same reason you better do.you can keep applying ro after you study SLT you can still do pharmacy. We believed the lie that one course was superior to the other until those so called underdogs started to do well.

It not even about the admission..

You should have done something valuable with those useful year. Either learn programming, start-up a small scale business, or even online course..

When they admit you now. And you graduate, it is the same you that will be shouting you want to kill yourself that there is no job..

Time is money. Make use of the free hours you have for tangible course
