Try DBS, theyre dishing out admission letter without IELTS -- this is totally not true. DBS requires IELTS and definitely won't accept 3rd class

Since everyone wants ICAS to provide free counsel and then go to other agencies, not sure why I should waste precious time though
Youre not wasting your time. The goal of the other travel thread is to cut the way people patronise scrupulous agent. Thats why they encourage DIY.
I really respect all you have done for us.

Thank you so much bro, this piece is helpful. I will revert here on further informations and tips. Hope Ireland is nice to you ? ☺️

With a 3rd class, you can get a direct masters in the UK for business related programs. For Ireland, your options are either a top up degree i.e a 1 year BSc or a pre-masters program + MSc route at Griffiths College.

Good day everyone. It's good to see the goods news of visa issued have started rolling in. To those that were denied, please appeal ASAP (cost of your first appeal is covered by the visa payment). I've been offline for a while, I had to Take time off to finish up my assignments and write my exams. Thank God first semester has ended, unto the next one. For those yet to arrive here is a list of stuffs i think would be helpful

1. First thing to buy when you land is a good jacket. I'll suggest you buy here since it's their weather and they know what needs to be done to keep you warm.
2. Hold enough money. Yes you'll get a job if you plan to, but it's not immediate. There are documentations you need to do before you can be allowed to work. Meanwhile you'll need money to run your daily life. It's no longer news that Dublin is expensive, you do not want to be stranded here. In my case it took two months before I started work (it's just a guideline, yours could be earlier or later)
3. Apply for your GNIB and PPS appointments ASAP
4. When you finally start working make sure you put your academics first. I see lots of people, especially Indians, miss classes because of work. They tend to struggle during the course and end up with bad grades, except you're a genius sha. Bad grades leads to difficulty in getting a good job after. Studies first.
5. When you resume classes pay attention. Trust me the attention you give in the first few classes will determine how well you'll be settled in the course. It would help you get a good understanding of what the course is about. Trust me, you need this
6. Try to come with plenty food stuffs. Like I said, Ireland is expensive especially Dublin. You do not want to add eating out to your bills. If you don't know how to cook, learn now. Lol
7. Houses are expensive but are available. Contrary to the popular believe that houses are difficult to find, they are not. You only need to look at the right places. I agree it may be difficult for first timers though. In the mean time, you can book a temporary accommodation like an hostel while you search for something permanent.
8. Ask questions. There are loads if stuffs that can make your life easier but you would not know unless you ask. Don't be shy, they say "who ask direction for road no dey miss road".

If any other thing comes to mind I'll had it. I wish everybody a safe trip and best of luck to the ones still expecting the good news . Cheers

Quick update !!! Based on an email received from the Visa office in Abuja, if you are refused for January, I won't advise you appeal unless your school can attest to following up on the appeal in time for your resumption in January. The visa office issued update that appeal will now take 3-4 months.

Am shocked and this is totally ridiculous- Unfortunately the Universities have little or no influence on this. Its quite sad and SILLY.

Not entirely sure this will apply to everyone , there is still something called favour.

Howbeit, appeal decisions within the last few days are for those who submitted in October.

So we can only stay positive

Stay positive. I put this up just incase someone in a similar situation has not sent the appeal. The first thing will be to request to defer till next intake, April or September depending on the University.

Or ask for refund and processs the UK.

The embassy may call you if you would want to pick up your passport at the Embassy in Abuja-If such happens, your visa was granted and your school presumably should be resuming soon or already started Induction.

Cheers

I submitted my appeal in December. I sent a mail to the embassy last week and was told that they are checking my appeal . Send another one the second time they said my appeal is still pending. I don't know which one to stand with one. I am totally disappointed with the Irish Govt on handling visa issues. All finger crossed

A lot of unstable people out there . If you're going to ireland and anyone advertises accommodation please don't pay anyone until you arrive and you're absolutely sure.

This person sent the following messages.

I intentionally left her number uncovered so everyone can be on the look out.

Here guys, I am the unstable one who sent this woman a message,

I am a student here in Dublin like everyone, given the hassle student go through in Dublin to get a place to rent, I thought i was being nice by sharing vacant accommodation to student who needs it, in our house, I’m NOT the landlord, I am a tenant in this house, I never asked anyone for money I only put out vacant space here, to help those who needs it. This women who runs a study abroad agency, the school pays her to bring student to Ireland and when they are done with admission they leave Students hanging, she started this thread to pretend like she is only helping people to answer question but meanwhile she is running a study abroad agency.
Why did she clean out her student agency info and left my number. I can only guess you are hiding something, you want to be in the good light and put me in the bad light. I accept, but atleast I am genuinely helping student.

Here is my own screen shots, with the complete message and her info.
By the way she blocked me from WhatsApp.

By the way you have no right whatsoever to put out my number in a public place like this .

GUYS SHE IS GOING TO DELETE THIS POST.
If you do and don’t allow people to see my own side of the story , I will started a new thread with this same study in Ireland starting with your name to call you out.

Guy I do not think it is not compulsory to force your vacant space on the newbies except you have some hidden agenda.

Everyone eventually settles down in Ireland after a few weeks of facing some accommodation challenges. It is quite a minor issue not worth over flogging.

Going by what I read up there, well she does a legitimate service and gets paid. That's her line of business and there is nothing unscrupulous about that.

Still do not fathom why you sent her insulting messages on WhatsApp and expect not to get blocked or some form of unpleasant reaction. Even if you want to monetize/advertise your claim of 'free accommodation' and she does not allow you use her platform then move on and try another platform. Rather than sitting down and begrudging.

If you are not happy that she exposed your mobile number here I suggest that you send a message to the mods. However that was the direct result of your action of sending those unsolicited messages.

In all, let's learn to embrace decorum. There is always a better way of doing things without rancour if our motives are indeed genuine.

And to all, lets indeed thread with caution if we are to contact anyone from this forum.

I thought the woman was being funny, this is more ridiculous. Forcing? You say, (hopefully you understand what the meaning of force is ) I have never come on Nairaland to force anyone to rent.
What I put out here was simply the address, how far it was to colleges, the facilities in the house and if anyone had questions they should ask, I did not in any way ask anyone for money, or ask anyone to send money, or did I say it was for free, the accommodation is not free (pls read before you type) a friend of mine (that we both on this forum had come to our house and saw we had vacancies and asked me to post it here).

Please before you sit in your house and label me a scam or whatever you want to spill out, know that there just people out there who has others in mind. My housemates are Brazilians and they will try as much to post vacancies in their own Brazilian groups to their get people into houses.

Before you will label me, carry your group and go.

You are directing your anger to a wrong person, she did not ban or hide your post i did, advertising anything here is not allowed and foreign students looking for accommodation should avoid contacting a stranger to arrange for one so as to avoid being scammed.

Nobody is calling you a scammer but one has to be proactive

The same way you took down my post take down my my mobile number.
Because the same people you are warning are sending messages to my phone number for the same accommodation.
And then carry your group on your head .
