BREAKING!!! Jubilation As Gov. Umahi Pays New Minimum Wage To Ebonyi Civil Servants on 10th January

It was all joy for Ebonyi Civil Servants in the capital city of Ebonyi, Abakaliki today as queue was observed in all the the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) within Abakaliki as jubilating workers were observed to be carrying out transaction after early morning alerts of their January salaries which the Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE ordered their payment to effect the new minimum wage of N30,000.

With this, it's crystal clear that Ebonyi has taken the lead in the states that aligned with the Federal Government and Nigeria Labour Congress agreement for the new minimum wage of 30,000 Naira.

Recall that Governor Umahi on his last 2019 EXCO meeting promised that workers in Ebonyi State will start receiving the new minimum wage, effective January 1st, 2020, a promise which he further confirmed when he directed the State Accountant General and LGAs Chairmen to seek for overdraft and ensure the payment of Ebonyi workforce, the January salaries which must reflect the new minimum wage on January 10th to enable them start the new year with ease.

Just this morning, the promise and directive came alive as several civil servants were cruising to their banks and ATMs for their transactions.

Truly, a visit to any ATM machine in Abakaliki today will without doubt send the message of joy and appreciation in the hearts of Ebonyians to Governor Umahi for always putting smiles on their faces at the right time.

Ebonyians are celebrating Governor Umahi.

This man is doing politics with the wages of works.
Can anyone from ebonyi say how level 8 step two is now being paid. You may be surprised that it's 32k while level 4 will be 20k.
Workers of that state are still under paid with lots of taxes, even to primary school children.

Suffering and smiling.

I know one day we will be free totally from our western colony, they decide what Africa eat and drink.

Common 30k people are celebrating as if Nigeria devide.

Bro the implimentation of the 30k minum wage is more than enough reason for any civil servant to celebrate.

Yes!

It has actually been a long time coming.for us.

Good news and kudols to the governor of ebonyi state His Excellency Gov. David Umahi.

Those of you not in the state are here praising him. This is a state where salaries were slashed ab initio. Even under the new minimum wage, a director at the highest cadre (level 16) takes home 123k as salary, and where increment from one step to another is just by 100 naira or from one salary grade level to another is by only 500-900 naira. Pls dont just read the stories and start praising. Get proper information first from those on ground! Go and feel the pulse of an average worker in the state and you will know what i am talking about.
