US never admitted responsibility yet the regretted the action and paid compensation for it? Your loving Iran shot down a plane they cleared to fly in their own airspace, denied it for days and when the evidence is overwhelming, they made a u-turn and and started blabbing from both sides of the mouth? US never denied downing the plane rather, they admitted and explained the reasons why it was downed. The radioed the pilot several times and he refused to identify itself. So stop talking rubbish cos it makes you look stupid.

Here Iran is operating under her own airspace, they have total & absolute control over their airspace and knows or show know exactly what is in there airspace and which coordinates they are.

Iran’s Air traffic control just the Plane an all clear signal to go, Iran military are professionals and have access to all that info and should know the flight pattern of that plane from lift up from the airport....moreso all commercial planes have callsigns and tail signs that can easily be spotted.

This is incompetency at Iran’s highest professional level and a big screwup that makes them a laughing stock.

Also they didn’t deny it, rather they admitted and explained the circumstance on which it happened. US army will never shoot down a civilian plane on American soil, they are not dumb to that extent.
