The Five Most Important Things To Include On Your CV by PatrickOkunima(m): 6:49am On Jan 13, 2020
A powerful CV is all you need to gain the attention of a potential employer. By that, you have a higher chance of getting that job. But wait a minute, ever seen a perfect CV? That is blatantly impossible. However, you can work toward perfection with these tips that would be disclosed in this article.

The problem most at times is not the inability to write a great CV, but knowledge of what your CV should contain. You might even find yourself wondering, should I include a reference? How do I list employment gaps? By knowing what to do, you cut down on these hurdles. Here are the five most important things to include in your CV. If you get this right, you will gain an edge over other candidates. Are you ready?

1. Job Description Keywords

Gone are the days when hiring managers scrabble through mountainous CVs in search of the perfect employee. Today, they simply save themselves the hassle by using the Application Tracking System (ATS). It is a highly sophisticated system that helps employers become efficient in hiring new employees. With this software, CVs can be ranked based on specific keywords found in the job description.

So, make sure to incorporate relevant keywords as you prepare your CV. A word of caution, the keywords shouldn’t be stuffed. They should appear naturally throughout your resume. Trying to cheat the system will only get your CV to the recycle bin.

2. Professional Title

As you carefully craft your CV, make sure your job goals are bold and bright. You do this by including the professional title at the top, boldly stating the position you’re eyeing. For instance, you can be something like; “Sales Manager” or “Senior Accounting Manager.” At a glance, the hiring manager would be able to tell the position you’re applying for.

3. Skills, Certification, and Credentials

If you have an essential certification that would prove to be an asset in your job, then you should highlight them at the top. Certifications like an MBA or RN often do the trick of wowing hiring managers. Include it close to your name, and it will be a bait; your potential employer won’t turn down. After all, they are looking to hire the best talent in the market.

If you also have other certifications or degrees that are not much of an asset, still include then in your resume. But make sure the important ones are on top and very visible.

4. Work Experience

If you have been working in the industry, making sure to include your work experience would be brilliant. It convinces your hiring manager that you’ve got both the qualifications and the experience. With that, arresting that job is almost assured. State empirically your previous position, your impact on the workforce, and what you plan to achieve if employed. It is a vital aspect of your resume that you shouldn’t joke with. To many, it is the selling point!

5. Profile and Personal Statements

Although you aren’t a business person, you must act like one if you must come home smiling. Every businessperson has something he or she is selling. In your case, you are selling nothing but your skills. Hook your hiring manager with a perfect sales pitch. This section should be right after your contact details and address. Your sales pitch is what will determine if they are to take you seriously or not.

When selling yourself, include bombs that would hit your hiring manager pretty hard. Include industries you’ve worked for, your high-level skills, and numerous problems that you have solved for your previous employers or aim to solve. Do this well, and you’ll get yourself a job.

Wrapping Up!

Getting a job isn’t rocket science. The more you try, the more you learn and upgrade your resume. The aim is to keep learning and implementing useful tips until you hit the jackpot. By knowing that companies are after the best, you will be able to create the best persona for them, without an atom of a lie. Good Luck!

Connection is the main head.

When you are asked,"how did you know about the vacancy? ''

I read on a newspaper, I saw it online, I heard about it from road passersby, ....... you have lost 40% chance of getting the Job.

Answers like, "Mr John directed me here, A worker here directed me, My sister who is your friend told me about the job, Barrister Anayor directed me here, Sergent Matthew brought me here, Balle of.... informed me, ...... You gat 60% secured already.

Gone are the days people accept a nobody, just know someone so that the manager would know whom to hold in case ......

Testimonies:

A SSCE/WAECholder is the president of Nigeria which is very valid( if you have SSCE, you can run)

An optometry graduate works in Access bank as a customer care agent

A physics graduate is now a sergent in kano state

A law graduate is now a sales girl at aspamda market in trade fair complex

An Agricultural science graduate is now a hotel manager in one of the hotels in Imo state.

Let me Just pause here, who says connections don't work grin grin grin

Re: The Five Most Important Things To Include On Your CV by BrutusOj(m): 8:27am On Jan 13, 2020
This is not applicable in Nigeria. Invites are not by CV, most organisations in Nigeria that truely want to hire qualified applicants just glance through CV looking for class of degree and previous work experience. Ogas at the top and top share holders all recommend candidates. Una wey get the time to package CV, make una carry on sha.
